We are delighted to announce that the Ballyshannon Rhythm & Blues 2024 takes place on 25th, 26th & 27th October 2024. There will be 24 Acts performing across 12 venues over the 3 days in Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal with 50 Free Gigs. Combining the influences of Led Zeppelin, The Doors and The Rolling Stones with their own original tone to create a fiery cocktail of heart racing and intensely grooving sounds. The multi-national 4 piece apply acoustic and electric guitars, percussion and saxophone to deliver a unique new driving Blues Rock sound. Now regulars on the festival circuits in the UK, Ireland and Europe, they are a force to be reckoned with.

Shlacks have been making quite the impact in this locality in recent times. A young but tremendously talented group that are all from the Ballyshannon, Bundoran and Ballintra locality. Recently performed a live set on the “Monday Night Sessions” on Highland Radio after superb performances at the Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival in Ballyshannon and also at Sea Sessions Surf and Music Festival in Bundoran.

Since the early age of 7 years, Pat McManus has been a musician and in the years since both his own and his family’s musical journey with “Mama’s Boy’s” has been legendary.

Pat McManus fondly known as “The Professor” has shared the stage with Horslips, Thin Lizzy, Hawkwind, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi and many more. Pat’s story and with his brothers “Mama’s Boy’s” is an integral part of Irish Rock Blues history. Pat has been a friend to Ballyshannon for over 25 years and its now our time to honour the legend.

On Sunday 27th October 2024, Pat McManus will be honoured with the Ballyshannon Blues Lifetime Achievement in Music Award. This award is bestowed annually to recognise individual(s) who have had a profound effect on music and its promotion in a positive way. Pat McManus is most deserving of this recognition after years of creativity in music and decades of live performing with Mama’s Boy’s, Celtus, Pat McManus Band and more.
