[NewIn] Maison Altisolis

Vincent Quenard founded Maison Altisolis in 2023 after years of careful thought. His education at the Beaune wine school from 2011 to 2016 was vital, providing him with knowledge that shaped his career. He gained valuable experience through internships at notable Burgundian estates like Domaine Trapet, Buisson-Charles, and Maison En Belles Lies, which fueled his passion for winemaking.

In the summer of 2016, Vincent went back to his family’s vineyard in Savoie, where they started a brewing workshop with their organic cereals and a distillery. Recently, he and his brother Mathieu began a small estate in Chignin, called

The idea for Maison Altisolis took shape in 2022, as Vincent focused on wine maturation, particularly Burgundian wines. He understands that every step, from terroir selection to barrel choice and ageing, is key to showcasing the winemaker’s essence.

Currently residing in Savigny-les-Beaune, Vincent has already developed a network that has resulted in three cuvées in his inaugural year: Aligoté, Santenay, and Maranges. His experience in the vineyards of the latter two appellations during his studies culminated in a dissertation focused on the Marange plot. The wines produced are entirely whole bunch fermented with natural yeast, and they are unfined, unfiltered, and non-chaptalized, with only a minimal addition of sulphites prior to bottling.

We are honoured to have represented Maison Altisolis from the very beginning. Thank you for your trust!

[New In] Marthe Henry

Marthe Henry Boillot, the granddaughter of Pierre Boillot, a prominent figure in Meursault, made a significant career shift from journalism to winemaking. After working with Pierre-Henri Rougeot at Domaine Rougeot, she decided to establish her negoce in 2017. Marthe’s winemaking philosophy centres around simplicity and authenticity. Her commitment to a minimal intervention method reflects her deep respect for the winemaking tradition.

Marthe sources grapes from organic vineyards and collaborators who share her dedication to sustainable viticulture. To preserve their natural essence and character, the wines are fermented with natural yeast, 100% whole bunch, unfined, unfiltered, and only receive a minimal amount of sulfites at the bottling stage.

Emphasizing quality and meticulous craftsmanship, Marthe’s wines undergo a lengthy ageing process in oak barrels, typically lasting at least 18 months, longer than the normal 12 months that many others do, as her cellar has an optimal condition where it could let the wines rest peacefully without temperature interference.

Marthe produces some of the most energetic yet charming wines, without lacking precision and authenticity. In a significant development in 2023, Marthe regained access to her family’s vineyards, including prized plots such as Meursault Charmes and Volnay Santenots-du-Milieu.

We had wonderful times with Marthe and feel fortunate to have the opportunity to secure an allocation, particularly as it seems there are no more available for sale.

We are incredibly proud to represent her wines exclusively in Hong Kong. Thank you for your trust!

[New In] La Chaume des Lies

Lothar Galloo and Margaux Rivaux, a couple who first crossed paths while working for Pierre Fenals at Maison En Belles Lies in 2018, made the decision to begin their own winemaking journey in the revered land of Burgundy. Driven by their shared dream, they set out to establish their very own winery.

After an extensive search, their quest led them to settle in the picturesque commune of Baubigny, nestled just south of Saint-Romain. Here, they were fortunate to secure a spacious underground cellar at an affordable price, providing them with the ideal setting for their aspirations.

Their venture began by renting 2.5 hectares of parcels across Saint-Aubin, Auxey-Duresses, Bouzeron, Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, and 2 hectares in Beaujolais. Margaux, having gained valuable experience working alongside Pierre in biodynamic practices since 2016, and Lothar, enriched by his previous experiences with Bruno Schueller in Alsace and Didier Barral in the Languedoc, not to mention his upbringing in an organic vegetable-growing family, possessed the knowledge and commitment to cultivate their vineyards without the use of herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic chemicals. Every operation was meticulously carried out in accordance with the lunar calendar.

Within the cellar, Lothar and Margaux sought to minimize intervention, allowing the vintage and unique terroir of each plot to eloquently express themselves. Their approach was characterized by precision, harmony, and a commitment to authenticity. All their wines are unfined and unfiltered, with only a minimal amount of sulphites added just prior to bottling.

The results of their endeavour have been nothing short of remarkable for a young winery. Much like the couple themselves, Margaux exudes vibrant energy, while Lothar maintains a calm and contemplative demeanour. This dynamic chemistry is beautifully reflected in their wines, which captivate the senses with their exceptional craftsmanship and distinctive character.

[New In] Maison Alain Brune

The term ‘Hidden Gem’ has been overly abused when it comes to selling wines. Whenever a new name emerges from Burgundy, it automatically earns the label of a hidden gem. However, we have indeed discovered a true hidden gem, one that is well-hidden and of top-notch quality.

Originally from Jura, Alain Brune’s passion for wine began at a young age. He started working in the vineyards for Pierre Overnoy, a living legend in Jura, when he was just 14 years old. After spending years in the vineyards and cellars, his love for wine led him to Burgundy in 1989.

Initially working in Morey Saint Denis at Guy Coquard’s estate, he eventually began making wine for himself as a hobby and for pleasure. Impressed by the quality of his wines, his friends encouraged him to turn his hobby into a business. In 1997, he established a negoce to meet the growing demand from friends and himself.

Now based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, all of his wines undergo 18 months of ageing in old barrels with minimal intervention. They are fermented in 100% whole bunch with natural yeast, remain unfined and unfiltered, are never chaptalized, and only receive a minimal amount of sulfites at the bottling stage. Production is limited, with typically no more than three barrels of Village or Grand Cru appellation wines produced each year.

Due to his unique production methods, most of his wines were consumed by Alain, his friends, and the occasional tourist. Consequently, his wines remained undiscovered and were not exported for a significant period of time. Whenever he has time, he takes care of his garden which gives him fruits and vegetables, living a peaceful and tranquil life.

We are honoured to be Alain’s first importer and to introduce you to this genuine ‘Hidden Gem’.

[New In] Domaine Jean-Marie Berrux

Based in Meursault, Burgundy, Jean-Marie Berrux has been cultivating and vinifying his 1.5 hectares of vines in Puligny-Montrachet for over 15 years. Originally from Savoie, Jean-Marie first worked in advertising in Paris until he discovered his dream and desire, leading him back to the vineyards. He then received training in viticulture and oenology in Beaune and decided to adopt a biodynamic approach to winemaking which is also done without any inputs, and his first vintage was born in 2004.

Despite working with only a small area, Jean-Marie is able to focus on every detail and work with precision. He constantly conducts tests and adjustments, carefully monitoring fermentations in each barrel. This is why he chooses to work with barrels that are not completely cleaned or disinfected with sulfur, allowing remnants of lees from previous vintages to remain.

The cellar, located beneath his house in Meursault, allows him to avoid mediocre results at all costs. He is always willing to work on Saturdays and Sundays if it means improving certain aspects. As he ages, his dedication and interest deepen, along with his attention to detail. Every year, he observes improvements, achieving greater precision.

With the small volumes produced and the meticulous attention he devotes to every detail, Jean-Marie brings forth sublime wines that continuously improve over time. His wines have become a benchmark for the finest natural Burgundy wines, and he himself is highly respected within the community of artisan winemakers.

[New In] Aymé Vadim

Vadim Sidorovitch’s scientific research and his passion for wine have converged to create a unique approach to winemaking. As a trained molecular biologist with a deep understanding of yeast genetics, Vadim brings a scientific perspective to the art of crafting wines.

The meticulous double-sorted organic or biodynamic grapes from exceptional vineyards reflects Vadim’s commitment to quality. Only the finest fruit is used for his wines. His minimal intervention principles and the use of native yeasts allows the natural flavors and aromas of the grapes to shine through.

One of the distinguishing features of Vadim’s winemaking process is the extensive barrel aging. His wines, especially the Grand Crus, spend a significant amount of time in old barrels, often exceeding six years (starting from vintage 2016). This extended aging period allows the wines to develop complex flavors and aromas, resulting in a harmonious and mature profile.

Vadim’s wines are unfined and unfiltered, with no addition of sulfites during fermentation. Laboratory analysis has shown that the sulfite levels in his cuvées are below the measurable threshold, essentially indicating no measurable sulfites present.

With such limited production, each cuvée from Aymé Vadim represents a rare and exclusive offering. The attention to detail, from the hand-bottling to the careful timing aligned with celestial phasings and atmospheric pressure, further highlights Vadim’s devotion to his craft.

The wines crafted by Vadim Sidorovitch embody the intersection of scientific precision and the artistry of winemaking. They offer a unique tasting experience, showcasing the terroir of Burgundy while reflecting Vadim’s distinctive touch and approach to vineyard management and winemaking.

We are extremely thankful to be their importer in Hong Kong.

The wines are only available on request.

Arrived🔥 Antoine Sunier 2022

Precise and elegant, fresh and lively, well balanced between aromatic bouquets and a detailed terroir-driven palate. Calling them well-made is an understatement!

The 22s have lighter extraction than the previous vintages, serving them chilled and we find them incredibly enjoyable!

Arrived🔥 OBORA 2022

The wines of OBORA are intensely perfumed new-generation Beaujolais wines with a strong emphasis on terroir.

Starting from their first vintage in 2021 with only one Chenas, they now have a total of five cuvees. This includes the addition of Julienas, Viognier maceration, VDF rouge (a blend of Moulin à Vent 2021 and 2022), and VDF blanc (a chardonnay from the Saône et Loire, a department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region).

Will they build a cult following? We don’t know. But do we love them? Absolutely!

Now available.
