In the past, the wine growers in the Champagne region were trying to match the success of Burgundy wines, but the cold weather stop the fermentation and It will start again when the spring come since the yeast cells awakened, causing carbon dioxide gas to be released.

We are tasting the second and last batch of Bordeaux En Primeur from the 2021 vintage before the start of the 2022 campaign.
We have found the 2021 a heterogeneous vintage that will require patience to unveil its potential.
On the reds, in general there is plenty of freshness, lower alcohol levels and elegant tannins, although without the opulence of fruit found in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
The character of 2021 brought us back to some of the vintages in the 80โs and 90โs with its cooler style, yet without evident under ripeness or pyrazine notes which was very surprising.
This is an incredible show of technical skills both in the vineyard and in the cellar on how to handle a challenging vintage.

Presenting today, ย 3 vintages of Vin Perdu, the second wine of Amuse Bouche winery in Napa Valley.
Made by the iconic Heidi Barrett, who previously vinify legends such as Silver Oak, Dalla Valle, Screaming Eagle, Jones Family, Buehler, among others.
Vin Perdu is a wine that is intended to be indicative of each vintage, composed of estate grown grapes, a blend of vineyards and varieties that changes every year, and a limited production of around 10.000 bottles per year.
Each label features a collectible patented flip lenticular label, and a unique storytelling with each new vintage.
These are exceptional wines made with the precision of an artisan.
Full bodied, rich, with velvety tannins, impressive freshness, loads of black fruits, sweet spices and a judicious oak influence, Vin Perdu represents an incredible value on Napa wines.

It merges the best fractions of 3 vintages of Unico and ages for 9 years combined between oak and bottle, with the majority of the oak sourced from France, and a small percentage of American oak.
It's an irresistible wine , readily approachable and more tertiary in character if compared to Unico.

After 40 years working at the domaine, 2017 was the last vintage made by the master Bernard Noblet before his retirement in early 2018.
Bernard who started working at DRC with his father Andre back in 1978, took over the responsibility as cellar manager in 1986 and since 2010 trained the enologist Alexandre Bernier to succeed him.
15.482 bottles were produced of Richebourg in 2017, after a decade of very low yields.
Itโs described by the specialized critic as softer, refined and more readily approachable than the previous 2 vintages.

The selection comprises 3 unique bottles, starting from the Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttonyos from 1972, a perfect vintage for noble rot.
A wine with an intense nougat, orange peel, honey and dried peach character, that is less sweet than expected in the palate.
The next Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttonyos from 2000, another splendid piece with deep spicy notes of cinnamon, gingerbread, burnt sugar, honey and orange marmalade. This is more unctuous and creamy on the palate.
The last of the 3 is the Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttonyos from 2013, one of the best years for noble rot in memory.ย The 2013 present aromas of preserved lemon peel, truffles and earthy notes, orange blossom, dried peach, and can be kept for decades.
