The nose on this seems more concentrated than the 2000, and the purity of fruit is stunning, with blueberries, raspberries, fresh flowers, and hints of licorice. This is perfect and complete. Full bodied, with notes of forest berries and wild raspberries, this is thick and velvety with perfectly polished tannins. You can really feel the density on this, more than the tannic structure. This is a sleeping beauty that will be utterly captivating when it awakes. Don't touch this until after 2015.

The first-growth 2005 Château Margaux (85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot), a lavish fragrance of blackcurrants, velvety new saddle leather, spring flowers and spice soars from the glass. The wood is already totally concealed beneath the cascade of fruit in this medium to full-bodied, pure and majestic wine. This concentrated, dense, but nevertheless strikingly elegant, multi-layered wine has a finish of 45+ seconds. It builds incrementally to a crescendo and finale. This is a stunner that can be approached already, but promises to be better in another 5-10 years and last at least 25 or more years. Drink 2020-2050.

The medium-bodied palate is supple on the entry, extremely well balanced, surprisingly spicy with a finish that fans out wonderfully. Simply, *one of the best Gevrey Villages you will find in 2021*.

The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Les Beau Monts 1er Cru might be my pick of this producer's 2018s. Limpid in colour, it offers exuberant scents of raspberry coulis, redcurrant jus and wild strawberry intermingling with iodine and violet, well-defined and probably needing 3-5 years to gain more sophistication. That will come. The palate is packed full of juicy ripe red fruit. A succulent and plush Vosne-Romanée with a mouth-filling, silky finish that has just enough salinity and edge to urge you back for another sip. Excellent, but do give it 3-5 years to develop some secondary notes.

Michel Noellat 位在人人稱羨的 Vosne Romanee 村, 但擁有的葡萄園廣布整個 Côtes de Nuits : 從 Marsannay 到 Pommar d村. 而在 Vosne Romanee, 除了特級園Echezeaux之外, 三個 1er Cru 都是大家認為與 Grand Cru 水準相去不遠的 Les Beaux Monts, Les Suchots和 Les Chaumes. 葡萄園的管理上面不使用除草劑和殺蟲劑. 100%去梗, 3~4天的冷浸泡和為期18~20天的發酵, 期間踩皮和淋汁都會使用, 但也要視各個年份, 各個葡萄園的差異來決定使用時間的長短. 發酵完之後的橡木桶培養會持續14~16個月, 但新桶的使用比例極低, 即使是特級葡萄園, 新桶的使用比例也不會超過50%. 木桶的供應商有四個, 都是以中度烘培的方式處理, 橡木桶的木頭主要來自 Troncais 和 Alliers 森林. (不同森林的木頭, 毛細孔的大小不同, 能給予葡萄酒的香氣也不同)

來自Volnay村中心多個地塊，與Mitans一級園接壤，面朝東南，土壤以粘土與石灰岩為主，平均樹齡50歲，只有在採收良好的年份，才會特別精選釀造。在大槽中使用原生酵母發酵 2 週。橡木桶(7% 新桶)中陳釀 18 個月。

**Outstanding** A complex mélange of both red and blue pinot fruit is laced with touches of spice, herbal tea, earth and dried flowers. There is very fine depth to the vibrant and solidly concentrated middle weight flavors that possess a lovely sense of underlying tension on the mineral-inflected, mildly austere and impressively persistent finish. An excellent villages that offers fine aging potential yet it could actually be enjoyed now too.

Good full red. Aromas of blackberry, dark chocolate and licorice. Juicy and aromatic on the palate, with lovely acid cut to the sappy red cherry and spice flavors. In a distinctly bright, taut style, with serious tannins arriving late. Really stimulates the taste buds. Michel Lafarge, who had virtually no remaining wine to show, called 2011 "a classic year with good phenolic maturity at moderate sugar levels, like 1952."

Complex, with savory, spicy character, showing to***co, salted plums, olives, black cherries, cassis and a hint of white pepper on the nose, followed by a refined, savory, balsamic accent. A full-bodied Seña with juicy fruit chiseling into the tight, extremely fine-grained tannins. Long, bright and still elegant from this warm vintage. 53% cabernet sauvignon, 25% malbec, 15% carmenere and 7% petit verdot. A wine with lots of harmony now, but better to drink from 2025.

The 2020 Seña is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Malbec, 15% Carmenere and 7% Petit Verdot (a little higher in search of acidity) from grapes harvested early, the second week of March, and fermented mostly in stainless steel and 10% in concrete eggs. It has a moderate 13.5% alcohol and good freshness. It's subtle and layered, not only fruit but with more spice; it has polished tannins and very integrated oak after 22 months in barrique, 78% new, and with 10% of the volume in large Stockinger barrels. The warmer years seem to be nicely managed, so that it's not reflected in the ripeness but is more a matter of texture and quality of the tannins; in the warmer years, like 2017 or this 2019, the wines have a little more grip, but these are definitely finer than those from the 2017 vintage. This wine has intensity and complexity, with no mintiness or herbal notes; it's spicy and juicy, with energy and depth. It has structure, color, stuffing and acidity to develop nicely in bottle.

I hadn't had the next wine in a long, long time, and it is still one of the all-time great Lafite-Rothschilds of the last 50 or so years - the 1986. Obviously from my cellar, where it has been since I bought it when it was released, this is a wine that proprietor Baron Eric de Rothschild has always said is one of his favorite Lafite-Rothschilds of the last 100 years. This is a 100-point wine. Still incredibly youthful, but beginning to show some cedar wood, graphite and blackcurrant fruit, the wine is medium-bodied, as many Lafites are, but stunningly concentrated and relatively light on its feet. There is still tannin to resolve, and the wine seems a good decade away from hitting full maturity, which is rather remarkable since it is already 30 years of age!

The tannins remain evident, fully in tact, and overall this 1986 is young, profound, full of spiced herbs and freshly turned-over earth. It needs time in the bottle or carafe, because although there is more evident charm in the 1985 on first opening, this is the vintage of the pair that will be around for the longest. Dense black fruits abound, along with cigar box, black tea and slate. In its youth it was described as tannic, solid, almost austere, and it is astonishing how it has kept that character over the decades. There are still nuaces here that will be revealed over the decades to come, so be sure to give it time to unwind if you are opening any time over the next decade. 45hl/h yield. The famous Ricardo Bofill circular cellar was under construction at this point.

This too is overtly floral in character with pretty and nicely elegant nuances of various white-fleshed fruit and lemon grass wisps. There is a more sophisticated texture to the beguiling and caressing medium-bodied flavors that are less mineral-driven but more refined on the balanced and firm finish that suggests that this should easily be capable of rewarding 6 to 8 years of keeping. Note: this is 80% from declassified Les Chalumeaux.

Deep garnet in color, the 2010 Lafite Rothschild is a little mute on the nose at this stage, opening to reveal warm blackcurrants, baked plums and boysenberry scents with hints of chocolate mint, violets, cedar chest and pencil lead. Full-bodied, rich and densely packed with perfumed black fruit layers, it has a rock-solid backbone of fantastically ripe, grainy tannins and beautiful freshness, finishing very long and minerally. Still very youthful! Drink 2025-2080.

Perfectly captures the Lafite mix of delivering concentration wrapped up with delicacy and slow-build construction, with the tannins showing a scraping, chalky minerality at first and then widening out through the mid palate to reveal a creamier edge. Cut herbs, liquorice, fennel, cassis, bilberry, loganberry, cigar box, incense. More closed than the 2009, as you would expect, but this is right up there with the greatest wines of the vintage, and one that you will be able to pick out of a cellar in 30 years time without the slightest worry. Brilliant. 100% new oak for ageing, from their own DBR Lafite cooperage. And once again, having this wine among the rest of the lineup during a comparative tasting is so instructive in terms of understanding the extra depths that you get from Lafite.

There is a purity of fruit in this young Tuscan red with flowers, citrus fruit and currants. Full body, with firm and silky tannins that are ultra-fine and wonderfully polished. The structure builds to a racy finish. This is a Bordeaux blend that is all in harmony. Give it time as the tannins and fruit melt together. Try in 2016.

Here the nose is slightly more deeply pitched with earthier aromas of plum, cassis and a hint of anise. There is good excellent richness and mid-palate density to the middle weight flavors that flash focused power on the youthfully austere, robust and impressively long finish. This compact effort should repay mid-term cellaring. Also worth a look.

Harmand-Geoffroy酒莊成立於十九世紀末，時至今日葡萄園已有九公頃的規模。葡萄樹平均樹齡為50年，而最老的樹藤則高達85年高齡。1980年，Martine和Gérard Harmand繼承家族酒莊，現由兩人的兒子Philippe掌管。

現任莊主維持傳統的耕作方式並在冬季進行翻土，以使根部可以充分的伸展，吸收風土精華，不使用農藥且採取合理農法(無除臭劑)進行蟲害管理。使用來自Allier森林的橡木桶培養，村莊級與一級園使用20%到50%的新桶釀造。經過12到16個月的細心培養，保存了黑皮諾完整的香氣。

酒莊所持有的葡萄園座落在Lavaux-St-Jacques, Champeaux, Perrière, La Bossiere(獨佔園)，以及特級園Mazis Chambertin，葡萄都是優質的老藤。經過五代相傳，如今的掌管人Philippe Harmand於2000年加入這個團隊，在父母Gérard和Martine的支持下承襲酒莊歷代的技術和精神，維持著傳統的方式種植葡萄，不添加任何化學藥劑，完全手工摘取葡萄。

在Harmand Geoffroy所有的推出的酒款中，旗艦酒款非Mazis Chambertin Grand Cru莫屬。酒莊持有0.73公頃的葡萄園來自6 個不同區塊，葡萄樹齡45年以上。2018年是個非比尋常的年份，酒莊主人Philippe形容"fleshy and generous and easy to like/厚實大方，非常討喜"。

"The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is performing very well, wafting from the glass with a deep-pitched bouquet of cassis, wild berries, incense, rich soil tones and woodsmoke. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, layered and broad-shouldered, with a deep and layered core, rich structuring tannins and ripe but succulent acids. Long and sapid, this is another excellent Clos Vougeot from Faiveley, and this cuvée seems to go from strength to strength every year."

In contrast to the preceding wines, a brooding nose only grudgingly gives up its aromas of essence of plum, red cherry, earth and background hint of oak. There is excellent mid-palate density to the solidly constructed, indeed even robust, flavors that display solid power on the balanced and lingering finale that is also youthfully austere.

Liger-Belair fermented the fruit with 40% whole clusters during a three-week cuvaison and is ageing it in 30% new oak casks to produce a wine with admirable concentration, plummy fruit and a subtle, nuanced complexity on the finish.

From five plots, both below and above the village. 40% whole bunches. Very fragrant, classically Chambolle, violets, nothing of a hot vintage, vibrant, absolutely mouth filling, these are old vines from the 1950s for the most part, with a lovely long pulled out red fruit finish. Very fine indeed. Built on a fruit acid balance more than tannins. This year I find the blend more compelling than the two small bottlings of single vineyard Chambolles.

blend of five parcels with some declassified Premier Cru, The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Vieille Vignes has quite a precocious bouquet with exuberant red cherries and crushed strawberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, *silky smooth in texture with a finish with echoes of Ghislaine-Barthod.* If you like that style, you will like this. Very fine.

Ripe and nicely fresh aromas of cherry, cassis and violet are trimmed in subtle though visible wood. There is fine volume and density to the noticeably finer middle weight flavors that are very Chambollesque while exhibiting good power on the youthfully austere finale.

Now at 15 years after the vintage, the 2007 Châteauneuf Du Pape is firmly in its prime drink window and is just about overflowing with character. Sweet black raspberries, red plums, incense, herbes de Provence, leather, and lavender all carry incredible intensity and richness, and this gives way to a full-bodied Beaucastel with the classic 2007 opulence and sexiness. Sweet tannins, full-bodied richness, and a singular character all define this magical Châteauneuf du Pape that will continue evolving for another two decades. Don't let that discourage you, though, it's drinking at point today.

Beaucastel’s 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape has turned out even better out of bottle than I predicted. An inky/ruby/purple color is followed by a glorious nose of blue and black fruits, truffles, pen ink, licorice, and meat juices as well as glorious levels of acidity and sweet tannin, buttressing the fruit’s fabulous freshness and vibrancy. This full-bodied effort still displays considerable tannin, no doubt because of the relatively high Mourvèdre content.
