Vacancy at the Hanley Swan Village Stores
Unfortunately, due to our new employee having been unable to secure suitable accommodation locally, we are again looking for a new member of staff.
The role is working in the shop and the Post Office. No experience is necessary, but a careful, conscientious person, confident in counting money, measuring parcels and dealing with the public would be ideal.
We are a small, friendly team & we all muck in to do any job. This is an active role due to frequent deliveries, stock replenishment and handling customer parcels.
Hours available are either Tuesday-Friday 1.30pm-5.30pm (16 hours) or
Tuesday-Friday 1.30pm-5.30pm & Saturday 12.30pm-4.00pm (19.5 hours)
Over 18 only due to Post Office & alcohol & to***co sales

Tomorrow is the last day at Hanley Swan Village Stores for Natasha ☹️ After 10 years of serving the community in the shop & Post Office, she is off to pastures new - still living & working in the village, so you will still see her around.
I don't know how we would have managed without her Post Office experience when we took over 4 years ago, as nobody else had ever set foot behind a Post Office counter! Thank you Natasha Price , we will miss you xx

A rare opportunity has arisen, to join the friendly team at Hanley Swan Village Stores . We are looking for a shop assistant & Post Office counter clerk, Tuesday-Friday 1.30pm-5.30pm (opportunities for further hours for holiday cover etc)
The job includes, but is not limited to
*Serving customers in the shop & Post Office
*Sorting deliveries
*cash handling
*stock management
This role would suit someone friendly & reliable, who takes pride in their work - this is an active role, not just serving at the till. No experience necessary as full training will be provided.
We are customer focused, work hard & try to have fun along the way.

⚠️Please note - tomorrow morning (Monday 19th) we may well experience some disruption to our card services in the shop. BT are changing us to fibre, which is necessary. The Post Office will be unaffected as it is on a different line & cash payments in the shop will be unaffected. Please bring cash if you can, Thanks ⚠️

As of today, we have implemented a minimum spend of £1.00 for card payments. This is due to an increase in people paying tiny amounts ie. 20p by card. With small transactions we can actually lose money after card charges are taken off - the same applies for paying with a phone / smart watch. With the ever increasing expenses of running a small business, we really can't afford to be losing money on sales.
