Deliciously prepared honey glazed parsnips, buttery sprouts, roasted sweet glazed root veggies, fresh potatoes readied for roasting, pork sausage meal stuffing balls and breadcumbed stuffing bites plus a dozen pigs in blankets. Barton Stacey has been chosen as the location for a special community research project and we have been asked by Test Valley Borough Council to circulate details of a crucial job role linked to it.

One Barton Stacey Parish resident is sought to train as a community researcher, and put their training to use by conducting local research, including talking to parish residents. Your commitment would be 6 hours per week for 14 weeks, starting in February.

Christmas Eve: 7.30am - 5.30pm
Christmas Day: Closed
Boxing Day: 9am - 10.15am (no bread delivery)
Friday 27th Dec.: 8am - 5.30pm
Saturday 28th Dec.: 8am - 7pm
Sunday 29th Dec.: 9am - 1pm
Monday 30th Dec.: 8am - 5.30pm

Newspaper and grocery deliveries will continue as normal (not Christmas Day), however milk may be delivered on earlier days than normal. Please order your bread in advance to avoid disappointment.

We can't be sure of customers' needs over the holiday period and don’t want to over-order. We are therefore recommending that you tell us in advance if you'll be wanting anything special from us, especially the bread and meat we get from our local baker and butcher. This applies to Christmas Eve or any day before the New Year.

OLD WI******ER is Lyburn's hardest cheese and up to 18 months matured. A multi award winner, Old Wi******er is reminiscent of an old gouda with a distinctive nuttiness in flavour. It's great as a table cheese but can also be used vegetarian replacement for a hard Italian cheese.

STONEY CROSS is Lyburn's youngest offering, which we have in stock as an 800g truckle to make your cheese display a real talking point. Mould-ripened, and not dissimilar to a French Tomme De Savoie, at 8 weeks old it has a creamy, buttery texture, sweet flavours, and a distinctly earthy finish. The name Stoney Cross comes from an old World War II airfield near to where it's made on the New Forest.

Our fantastic Indian Meals freezer is fully restocked with four more dishes joining the range:

* Chicken Tikka Moonlight
Tandoori chicken tikka pieces in a rich tomato based sauce with Pinot Grigio wine and garam masala for a sweet twist to a medium spiced dish!

* Lamb Makhani (mild)
Slow-cooked Lamb Pieces in a rich and smooth sauce. It has roots in the first Moti Mahal restaurant in Delhi, where it was invented in the 1950s.

* Prawn Korma (mild)
A Mughlai special - Atlantic prawns simmered in a tomato sauce with Scottish cream, coconut, almonds and cashew nuts.

* Paneer Butter Masala (mild)
Cubes of paneer cheese in a tomato sauce with cream, almond powder and spices.

It's been a very quiet month for us. Amazingly, we hardly sold any of our lovely sourdough bread on Tuesday, and now an entire case of Birds & Bees Eggs is only a week off its use-by date. As a result, we are selling off half-dozen boxes of free range eggs for just £1. Find them on the Reduced shelf by the counter.
