Wanderlust Wine

Wanderlust Wine Wine importer and distributor, bringing small wine producers from off the beaten track. Great quality, unknown producer wines at wholesale prices. What do we do?

Wanderlust is a word meaning ‘a strong desire to travel’ – we use this in the context of new wines, new regions and new styles to keep exploring new shores. We believe a lot of the wine in the market could be a lot better quality. A large percentage comes from very large vineyards, mass made which puts a strain on quality. Our ethos is to find unknown vineyards and producers who make great wine fr

om off the beaten track! We explore find new, smaller producers from lovely small pockets of the globe
We work with the vineyard and import their wines exclusively to the UK
We look after this delicious grape juice in our temperature controlled warehouse
We deliver it directly to you. No middle men. Nice and simple, quality wine! Our ethos and way we do what we do:

We only buy what we believe to be better value that what is already readily available
We work on a smaller, flat rate margin to bring great wine to the people! We treat the vineyards fairly by agreeing a price and sticking to it. Supermarkets on the other hand have been accused of ruining producers financially by treating them badly (forcing prices down and down, imposing penalties and ‘deals’ into the shops) and not showing them the respect they deserve for great quality wine!

L’Apparita.

100% Merlot 🍇The first purebred Merlot was produced in Tuscany. In the 1980s, the estate took a bold step by grafting Merlot onto native Italian rootstocks, a decision that led to the creation of “L’Apparita.”

Since its first vintage, this wine has consistently showcased the unique expression of Merlot, distinguishing itself from others and enhanced by the terroir of Ama.

🍷Red fruits, blackberry, lavender, new leather, cloves and a balsamic note finish.

Including L’Apparita, current releases and library vintages of Castello di Ama are now available via the link in our bio💥

“Wine has to spring from the rock of the vineyards and reflect its characteristics. Soil, climate and variety form a particular functional reality in which the technique of control of man is inserted, to bring out all the originality of the situation.” - Marco Pallanti, Winemaker of Castello di Ama.

As we embark on our partnership with Castello di Ama as the sole importer and distributor for the estate in the UK, their wines—from Chianti Classico and Riserva to Gran Selezione DOCG and Toscana IGT—will now be widely available in the UK market.

Current releases and library vintages are available via the link in our bio.

Famille Perrin, Southern Rhône, France

For those who are a Rhône region follower, you may have come across Château Beaucastel, one of the most renowned estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. While Beaucastel wines are, no doubt, extraordinary, they take years to shine, often needing over a decade or more to evolve into their full potential.

⏳But what if you don’t have to wait?⌛️
THREE REASONS why Famille Perrin Cairanne ‘Peyre Blanche’ could be the answer.

1️⃣🌱All fruits are organically and biodynamically farmed.
Planted just like the fruits for Château Beaucastel’s wines.

2️⃣🍇A classic blend of Grenache and Syrah.
Treated in the same facilities as Château Beaucastel’s wines. Full-bodied yet fresh, with a powerful but silky palate.

3️⃣🍷Enjoy now or over the next 3-5 years.
You can enjoy quality and classic Southern Rhône blend with 3-years of bottle-aging with just below £20. Saving you the wait of 10-20 years like most of Beaucastel’s vintages!

Southern Rhône wines from the same family behind Beaucastel, offering all the signature elegance and depth, and ready to enjoy now!

Run by three brothers - Enrico, Matteo and Davide, Bresolin Wine is a young and passionate family-owned winery that started in 2012 in Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG, Veneto, a fairly new and up-and-coming region.

✍🏼“Their production of wines is limited but with great personality. Their Extra Brut has the super-fine bead that comes from long, slow re-fermentation, intriguing aromas of Mediterranean herbs and a vibrant palate of great purity. Dry without asperity with a long and beautifully defined, tangy citrus finish. Exceptional.” - Decanter

Domaine Bretaudeau, The Loire Valley, France

Jérôme Bretaudeau’s range from Muscadet, Merlot to Pinot. YES, Merlot in The Loire and NO, his Muscadet is not your typical light, citrusy, straight-forward and simple Muscadet.

💫“Theia Muscadet” is on the opposite spectrum of all the above. It is intensely mineral and smoky on the nose, with a soft, elegant attack on the palate.

Jérôme’s wines are
➡️ All grapes are estate-grown - unlike many in the region
➡️ Fully organic and biodynamic
➡️ Only using natural yeasts
➡️ Zero additives or filtration.

⚡️A stunning example of how terroir and wine-making decisions can elevate a varietal to new heights.⚡️

Mark Haisma, Burgundy, France

-An Australian “Bogan” making wines in the heart of Burgundy -

After spending ten years as a winemaker at the renowned Yarra Yering in Victoria, Australia, Mark moved to Burgundy, the heart of the Old World. He quickly gained attention for being forward-thinking in the region. This is quite rare, as you all know, the region is densely populated with world-renowned and famed producers.

⚡️“A Bogan in Bogandy” is a Coteaux Bourguignons, blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay. Juicy, pure, very approachable.

⚡️And Shiraz from Burgundy?
Here is one and probably the only one.
Soft tannins, precise and electric acidity, layered with juicy raspberry and cranberry, with a touch of tomato leaf. Not the bold, smoky, meaty Syrah or Shiraz you might expect.

One that is elegant, precise, expressive yet out of the ordinary.

Bodegas Chaves Ponte Da Barca Albariño, Rías Baixas, Spain

Sure, you can find Albariño in every supermarket — but why Bodegas Chaves’s Albariño?

The Producer - Bodegas Chaves
1️⃣They are the FIRST Albariño producer in Rias Baixas, crafting this indigenous white varietal 36 years before the appellation was even founded!
2️⃣Grown on a hilltop overlooking the Atlantic (highest in the area). It benefits from cool sea breezes and fog, resulting in exceptional freshness and sea spray character in the wines.
3️⃣Family-run since 1966, 3rd generation Tino is now the driving force (➡️2nd picture)

The Wine - Ponte Da Barca Albariño
⭐️Fresh, mineral, tropical, and creamy — with no oak influence!
⭐️Attacking acidity - one that is a perfect partner with white flaky fish, shellfish and oysters.

Ever wonder how this true Albariño pioneer is different from others? Only one way to find out... The link in the bio will bring you straight to the bottle

🌞Trip to California Part 2 🌞

📍3rd stop
When many people think of California, it’s the warm, rich sunshine and the rich wines that go with them. However, in our opinion, the Sunshine State’s best wines are those from cool sites, preserving acidity, freshness, and balance.

We were lucky enough to visit Peay Vineyards recently, one of these special sites situated on a West Sonoma Coast mountain ridge without a soul in sight during the 2-hour drive from Sonoma. Many people consider the West Sonoma Coast region as the grand cru of California’s cool-climate regions, making distinctive, low-alcohol Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, that are a far cry from Napa’s buttery, rich style. Thank you for having us, Andy!

JUST LANDED: Clendenen Family Vineyards Back Vintage Release

⭐️Straight from the cellar in California to the UK — some of the back-vintage wines from Clendenen Family Vineyards are now available!⭐️

For those who don’t know, this is the brainchild of the legendary Jim Clendenen, the mastermind behind Au Bon Climat. While Au Bon Climat focuses on Burgundian-styled Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Clendenen Family Vineyards explores small-batch, off-the-beaten-path varietals.

❓What are off-the-beaten-path varietals❓
Just like the Punta Exclamitiva 2011 — a Nebbiolo crafted in Santa Maria Valley, aged for an incredible 60 months in oak (where the minimum requirement for oak age in Barolo is 18 months). It’s entering its prime but will only get better in the next 10 years. ⏳🍷

🔗Explore these back-vintage wines, dating as far back as 2006, with limited quantities available on our website. Get them when they are still IN STOCK!

🌞Trip to California🌞

Early in September, we made our annual trip to California to visiting our partner producers, as always, great to catch up and seeing harvest in full swing💥

📍1st stop
Clendenen family Vineyards has a history spanning back to plantings in 1994 as Jim Clendenen’s side project with his next generation, producing alternative varietals alongside Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. There is no doubt the team continues to produce wines with the ABC signature of balance, finesse, and longevity with library vintages back to 2003 that are still alive and kicking.

➡️ Swipe to see our jounrey
1️⃣2️⃣The cellar of Clendenen family Vineyards
3️⃣ A 17-year-old Riesling, not just about the vintage but an out-of-the-ordinary varietal from Santa Barbara County!

📍2nd stop -
Presqu’ile Wines is a family-owned winery in the Santa Maria Valley dedicated to crafting exceptional, cool-climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay; taking half its fruit from the famous Bien Nacido vineyard. They also now produce exceptional Syrah, Gamay and brand-new Aligoté. If you ever get a chance to get out there, the visitor experience and views are unparalleled!
