So this is a new one for our shelves - Sancerre Le Rochoy 2022. Organic and noted for its mineral notes, this would be perfect for the festive season, or any situation that demands a crisp and elegant white.

Yes, it’s true. Black Book are creating premium wines from unlikely locations, and with class.

2022 PINOT NOIR
CLAYHILL VINEYARD
“Nightjar”
Grown in nearby Essex, the grapes are handpicked, and hand sorted in the vineyard then travel a short distance to our winery in Battersea. It is fermented in small open top fermenters with partial whole clusters and aged in burgundy barrels for a minimum of 9 months. The resulting wine has refined tannins and elegance with aromas of sour cherries, violets, and raspberries. Unfined and unfiltered.

We a have a good selection of drams from Glenmorangie at the moment, including this limited edition number. No, it’s not actually ice cream, but it has strong vaillins thanks to special toasting of the casks used. With a rich, thick and creamy texture, this is sweet and decadent, leading to a long finish with notes of toffee apple, sweet popcorn and touch of aniseed.

We had a great time yesterday at the annual legendary Elphin Chicken Day. It was a great turn out and the weather was kind. We were happy to help with a bottle of The Ullapool Gin for the raffle, with proceeds going to help the community hall and its various activities through the year. This edition saw a return of the chicken race, which is always a highlight!

Congratulations to the Elphin committee and all the volunteers that did such a great job. We look forward to next year! 🍸🐓
