A little thank-you to our paper boys!
We did a surprise mini Easter-egg hunt in the shop this morning for the paperboys with a cryptic clue each... just a our way of showing how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication!
When lockdown started, we asked our paperboys if they wanted to stop delivering... they said no beause some elderly and isolating customers need their daily paper! We wanted to say a little thank-you to our paper boys (and their parents) for continuing to deliver papers through this tough period!
Last night the whole of the community came out to clap, whistle, cheer, hoot and clang in appreciation for everyone helping to keep the country going... everyone who is risking their own lives to help others. You are the true angels!
The NHS, doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, receptionists, police, emergency services, scientists and researchers, emergency and non-emergency call centre staff, bus, train and cab drivers, retail staff working in shops and supermarkets, delivery drivers delivering essential shopping, truck drivers, factory workers, wholesalers, cash and carries, takeaway drivers, all the volunteers helping in their communities and last but by no means least... the small shops in your local neighbourhoods that many people have re-discovered... run by families for many years, providing all the essentials and some strange obscure treasures, delivering to the elderly and isolated... and providing a friendly face when you're feeling lonely and need a chat (at a safe distance of course!).
During this time of uncertainty, we promise you something...
we will get through this... together ❤️
