On what is now officially our last day at Slee Stores, we’d like to thank everybody that has been part of our story.
The last week has been a time of reflection, thinking about people who’ve come and gone, those sadly no longer with us, the children I’ve teased and watched grow up and have families of their own.
Thank you for your friendships and to every single person who has supported us, not forgetting family and friends who have all played their part. To our loyal and dependable staff throughout the years on whom we’ve relied, we truly appreciate everything you’ve done for us ❤️

Plasmarl you made us feel welcome and part of your community and for that we’ll be eternally grateful. We’ll miss the chats, the familiar faces, the fun and laughter but above all the people in this community. ❤️

Now begins the next chapter in our story; other than a long overdue and well needed holiday, we don’t yet know what the future holds but one thing is certain, Plasmarl and the people in this community will forever hold a place in our hearts ❤️

It’s been our pleasure to serve you, but for now we wish you all good health and happiness, thanks for the memories, it’s been a blast!

And last but certainly not least our mainstay, our Bonz aka Carol 😂

From that first day in Jan 1999 to our last she has been with us every step of the way. She’s been there to celebrate the good times and support us through the bad and without her the last 18 months would have been impossible. She’s the most organised person we know and she couldn’t have done any of it without the love and support of Stuart who is simply her rock
Carol,from the bottom of our hearts we thank you for everything you’ve done to support us over 25 years of highs and lows. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried but we’ve made some fantastic memories and have a friendship that will last forever
Time to now start the next exciting chapter of your life with little Zach! 💙 We wish you everything you wish yourself and more, good health, happiness and a long and happy retirement. This is your time now and you deserve it ❤️

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Whilst we’ve been happy to be a delivery point for your parcels unfortunately after today we we’ll not be able to accept any more.

We still have a number of parcels awaiting collection at the shop; all parcels MUST be collected by 4pm on Thursday 21st March or they will be returned to the Royal Mail sorting office or to the original sender.

We’d always hoped that when the time came to say goodbye to you all, Elena would be still with us but things have taken a little longer than expected and in Sept 2022, her and Terry decided it was time to enjoy retirement and took themselves off to bonnie Scotland for a well deserved holiday.
Elena, was part of the fabric of the shop; she was here when we took over in Jan 1999 and was a valued member of our little team for nearly 24 years! Despite her diminutive stature she was a force to be reckoned with and nobody got one over on our El 🫣
Thank you Elena for all your support over the years, we’ve missed you! ❤️

So today we thank this little Diamond, 🫢
Laura came to work with us as a shy 15 year old hiding behind a baseball cap; we didn’t even see her eyes for the first few years 🤣 We watched her grow into a confident young lady (tomboy 🫢) with a sharp wit who was an absolute pleasure to have around. We like to think that the shop helped her grow and develop into the person she is today ❤️

Today we recognise and thank Tasha, Sharon and Chris who although no longer work in the shop, each played their part in our story. Thank you to you all for your contributions, you were all valued ❤️
And we couldn’t leave out Conrad 💙who lived upstairs and was our odd job man. He fixed things, kept things tidy and helped out with the cash and carry. Gone, but missed and never forgotten RIP Con x

Wow, our last Saturday and what a day! Fantastic atmosphere in the shop from start to finish all topped off with a Derby win for the 🦢 Swans 🖤🤍🖤🤍

Time now to pay tribute and thank our little team who have supported us so loyally through the years and without whom we simply couldn’t have managed without. They are collectively what was the heart and soul of our business
Starting with this lovely lady Vera. Although she left us a few years back, her legacy lives on; we miss her infectious laugh and zest for life.
Thank you for V for your love and support, and for all your hard work over the years, we were lucky to have you ❤️

As many of you will already know this is the start of our last week of trading, this time next week Slee Stores will be closed for business and after 25 years we’ll hand the keys over to somebody else 👀

The new owners have plans to improve the shop and it’s not clear at this stage if they’ll initially close to do this work or if they’ll plan it in for the weeks and months ahead. If we hear anything, we’ll keep you updated on this

The PO will temporarily close too but please be assured it will return once the new owner has been fully trained so keep your eyes peeled for updates which I’m sure will be posted at the shop

We’re still around until Thursday so please pop in, we’d love to see you
