Llanmadoc Community Shop News,events and general information about our volunteer run shop,post office,off licence and coffee shop..

Our Shop sells keenly priced groceries which wherever possible are locally sourced. And of course there are our famous home made cakes and pastries! Our purpose built new premises are not only convenient for locals and visitors but will allow us to build on our reputation as one of the most successful community owned enterprises in Wales. Our success means we are more than just another shop:

are at the heart of our community bringing people together whether they are customers, volunteers or users of the many friendly facilities we provide.
• We make an important contribution to the local economy by attracting regular shoppers and visitors who then spend their money in the village.
• We provide an opportunity for the people of Llanmadoc, surrounding villages and visitors to make an important contribution to village life by supporting the shop for the benefit of all.

The recycling at the village shop will be finishing at the end of January.

The Terracycle co-ordinator for Swansea is hanging up her plastic gloves, as after 13 years, the amount of recycling has reduced so much as people take their soft plastics to supermarkets and manufacturers are no longer participating in the charity schemes.

Thanks to your help, over the last few years, the village recycling has raised over £500 for Lawrence's Roundabout Well Appeal.

So, if you've been collecting plastics, please make sure you drop it off in the appropriate bin by Wednesday 29th January.

We would like to thank Marge Murray for all of her work co-ordinating this for the past few years.

Change to Post Office Opening Hours

Dear customers,

You may be aware that our current post mistress, Karen, will sadly be leaving us at the end of January this year. We have been fortunate that Sylvie has agreed to take over. However, following discussions with the Post Office, they have authorised opening days of Monday to Thursday only. We are hoping to have further discussions in the future to resume a six day service. Therefore, from week commencing January 27th the Post Office will open from Monday to Thursday from 10-12. Shop opening times will not be affected.
