Welcome to The Prior, originally named “The Colonel Prior” after Colonel Prior, the chairman of Sunderland AFC from the 1930’s until the 1950’s. We’ve just undergone a major refurbishment and investment to make us the best pub in Moorside! We pride ourselves on being family and dog friendly with great deals on our food every day. Welcome to the Prior, Sunderland. We're a traditional friendly pub offering a wide selection of beers/lagers and wines, all at very competitive prices, together with a quality food offer which is served daily.

Possibly the best Sunday lunch in Sunderland - choose from one of our freshly roasted joints, Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings served from 12noon - 6pm. If you're pushed for time at lunch, you can phone your order in and we can have this ready and waiting for you.

All Sky and BT Sports are shown on our TVs and big screens. We have well equipped decking and patio areas to relax in on those sunny days and a large private car park to the front of the pub.
