We’ve had lots of requests to hold more tastings back in the yard again!

As many of you have noticed, we moved the shop around before Christmas and are gearing up to host more here during 2025 🍷🍾

It will be just like the old days - nice and cosy with seating for plenty!

We’ve got lots on the way including wine quizzes, a Bulgarian wine tasting in collaboration with The Long Table in February, and our monthly Friday night wine club is back where we will be focusing on our favourite wineries and producers from around the world and inviting you to pop in and try them 😍

It’s been a busy 2024! We’ve had a brilliant time welcoming winemakers to Stroud including and and visiting some incredible vineyards and wineries most notably and in Madeira and Greece.

There have been many tastings, many wines and lots of fun 🥂🍾

More to come in 2025 - Happy New Year 🥳

An old favourite we first enjoyed 20 years ago and his wines are still as beautiful as ever today.

Duband has 17 hectares of vineyards in Burgundy that he works organically and biodynamically with as little intervention as possible.

The grapes for this wine are sourced from Brochon which is sandwiched between the appellations of Fixin and Gevrey Chambertin in the Cote De Nuits.

Stunning wine, so incredibly well balanced with classic red berry notes, supple tannins and a wonderful earthy savoury character.

Pairs well with All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr / mushroom risotto / cheeses and charcuterie especially Camembert !

Call My Quaff Returns and tonight’s will have a seasonal twist with a full line up of wines for Christmas Day, your challenge is to correctly answer which is which! 🎄

Call My Quaff is a fun game involving blind tasting 6 wines, each with two tasting descriptions. One will be the truth, one will be a lie. It is up to your team to decide which is which. Bonus points for guessing the bottle price, there will be a prize for the winning team!

No previous knowledge of wine is required, just the ability to drink it!

You’ll be guided by Emma who will show you the ropes (and moss!) to craft a stunning and sustainable fresh wreath. Emma will show you step by step, starting with a moss base then learning the technique that attaches the festive foliage to the base, then finishing off with natural adornments to bring your creation to life. She will show you how you can use your wreath for many months to come.

Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or a complete beginner, Emma will have you feeling like a pro in no time! 🤩

We revisited this at the weekend and were reminded how delicious it is! 😍

Gabbas is a small producer with only 20 hectares in the heart of Sardinia at the foot of the Supramonte mountains. 🇮🇹

Giuseppe Gabbas believes in a minimal intervention approach to winemaking and he has built his reputation for producing traditional style wines from the islands most popular two grape varieties, Vermentino and Cannonau.

This Vermentino is beautifully fresh yet well rounded with zesty acidity. Notes of apricots, almonds and dried herbs with a lovely minerality. A great partner to seafood linguine or fish tacos.

If you love Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc, this is a wonderful alternative (and far more interesting!) 🤩
