Unfortunately there will be no papers delivered today to those customers who use the delivery service.

We have only received a handful of newspapers in store-
The Mirror, The Star, Western Daily Press, Express and The Racing Post.

WHSmith have stated that there will not be another delivery today for the rest of todays papers that are missing from our order.

This message is from Rabinder (Bob and Sukis daughter). They have not told me to post this, but it is getting the point now that living above the shop is becoming draining. We can hear everything that is being said when you leave the shop, even if my parents can’t understand it- I definitely can.

A couple of things really;
1. Any racism towards my parents will not be tolerated, don’t think I don’t hear what is said when you leave the shop. Recently I have heard children mocking my parents and their accents.
2. The cost of items, prices have increased by all suppliers- which we have had to do the same. Unfortunately we do not have the privilege of buying products at the same price another supermarket does, which some people fail to remember.
3. The bin has been removed due to a number of reasons. The council not emptying regularly but also once it was full- customers were still trying to use the bin and then disregarding the waste on the floor, which became a habit. All we ask is to take your rubbish home, or wait and find a bin.

I’ve grown up in this shop since I was 2 and now I’m 23. Had a lot of fond memories growing up, met so many customers and watched other families grow. Just felt that these issues needed to be addressed, as my dad says “if I spoke fluent in English, it would be fine”. Both parents came from India to build a new life (which is extremely hard), and I want them to continue to enjoy what they’re doing- serving the community.
