Another weekend begins with some cracking beer! We're not messing about over here.

On cask we have a battle of two greats from , a soft hazy pale and a refreshing session bitter, both are going down a treat!

Some favourites on the keg taps today feature a peacherine and motueka hop showcase from hitting all those lovely peach and lemon/lime notes; this one won't stick around! Joined alongside by a perfect example of a hazy pale using the finest Galaxy, Vic secret and Ella hops to bring a good tropical hit to an otherwise gloomy winters day.

And if you think Oktoberfest is over, think again! cask Kellerbier is pouring and drinking beautifully, super crisp and just what you need to get the weekend started!

THIS WEEK // It's getting cold and dark so we're having a spicy week to keep us all toasty. Tonight (Wednesday) we're continuing to celebrate the good work of with a night of wings & fried things. Tomorrow we're getting into a big, rich chilli featuring Carlin peas from and stout from .

Lunch sandwiches are joined by a nutritious cauli & spinach curry, served Thursday and Friday 12-3. We'll have the coffee on and I'll knock up some spiced apple muffins to go with it.

On Sunday we're getting unseasonably tropical with a jerk roast. I absolutely love Jamaican food so will be taking a run at turning tender greens into a callaloo-inspired dish, alongside our first parsnips of the season which will be sticky, spicy and sweet with a scotch bonnet and honey glaze. will be spinning records whilst I try to get my dumplings right!

Beer stock is looking great, with the return of Beach House on cask from coming up alongside the first bitter we've had from them too. Dark treats from , and all racked and ready to go too.

THIS WEEK // Yes, we're closed today, you'll just have to have a can in the park like the rest of us. However, for the rest of the week we've got various excitement. Wednesday is fried chicken night once again, featuring the excellent hot sauces of and wonderful mushrooms from .

Thursday we're having our first inauthentic curry night where I'll be doing my versions of flavours I love from Manchester curry houses. Thursday and Friday lunch we're back on the soup and butties and I'll be knocking up some brownies to go with the delicious .stockport coffee we have on filter.

At the weekend I'm pi***ng off to the lakes to check the form at but you'll be in safe hands with Yung Josh following my Reddish Roast playbook. Elliot Barlow of will be spinning records and as usual Dan will be a safe pair of hands behind the bar. It's all going to be fine, probably.

Loads of great beer too, Luminosa Nelson is currently tasting very special on cask with plenty more to follow.

Welcome to stout season! As the weather changes and gets more autumnal there's nothing better than a good pint of stout. Featured here is the roasty toasty nitro stout 'Irwell Depths' from .

We try to keep at least one or two dark beers always on offer in our rotation, often having both cask and keg options. Come down to our cosy bar and escape those winter blues!

THIS WEEK // It's October apparently, Jesus. A week of classics coming up - chicken burgers on Wednesday with either buffalo or BBQ sauce. burgers too. Cheeseburgers and fries on Thursday.

Thursday we're closed for lunch whilst we accept some hospitality. Open from 3pm. of on the grill for evening burgers.

Friday's butties will be homemade pittas. Probably with things like ham and fried chicken and grilled veg in. Apple and cinnamon muffins will return and there'll be pumpkin soup to slip into the season.

Sunday our very own .sir will be selecting records on whilst we knock out a classic beef roast. Red wine gravy etc. Crumble probably. Yorkshires maybe.

We've got some top guest wine too, fine cask ale as usual. Non-stop smashers on keg.

Keeping it cosy as the bastard weather turns. Thanks for your continued support in these trying times.

German-tinged things continue as we recover from a wonderful time at 's Stocktoberfest. The pork is roasting nicely and we've got a cask of Noble Keller Bier on cask to simultaneously celebrate our inclusion in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide.

This weekend we'll be joining in the fun Stocktoberfest with a bar snack stall in the upstairs room, reworking currywurst in scotch eggs and sausage rolls. Couldn't get any landjaeger but smoky kabanos should fill that snack gap perfectly!

Fresh on our cask taps is this wonderful heavy hitter from , full of juicy peach with a slight bitter finish.

Across our three cask lines we always have a rotating selection of different styles to suit all tastes; usually this will be a bitter, a pale and a stout/stronger ale. A good mix of traditional beer and lots of modern stuff!
