Chilean red wine. 🍷 Enticing aromas of forest fruits, cherry, raspberry and mulberry are laced with vanilla and to***co nuances through to around palate with a fine tannin structure and a persistent fruity finish. And what a gorgeous label to boot! Pop in until 6pm to pick up a bottle. 🍷

Blacksmith Cabernet Sauvignon 🍷

The Lindner Family has been immersed in the Barossa’s culture of farming, food and wine for six generations and their Langmeil winery is a model of the family-run producer. Their commitment to quality in all aspects is unwavering, this Blacksmith Cabernet Sauvignon is the unsung hero of Barossa wine, it has been matured for almost two years, achieving the structure, depth and balance expected from this premium Australian grape growing region.

It is bright and juicy, and the berry fruits coat the palate and mingle with brambly spice, with hints of black olive and anise. Medium to full body with velvety, fine, grape and oak tannins add to the structure and flow onto the long, fruitful and spicy finish. Pop in from 10am to pick up a bottle.

The Purbeck Cider Company select only the finest apples to press into refreshing English cider at their family farm on the Isle of Purbeck. Using no artificial flavours or additives, the result is a range of naturally delicious ciders full of flavour as every apple intended. We have such a large selection of wines from across the world here at Haywood Wines and this week we wanted to highlight the carménère grape variety. Originally planted in the Médoc region of Bordeaux, France, it was used to produce deep red wines. A member of the cabernet family of grapes, the name ‘carménère’ originates from the French word for crimson (carmin).

Here are a range of Chilean wines made with carménère grapes which we have specifically picked out for you to try. Pop in from 10am - 6pm Tuesday to Saturday to pick up a bottle.

KORE by . A rich, deep and intense Syrah showing mature fruits with nuances of black pepper. Full bodied with velvety fannins and a lingering hint of exotic spice on the finish. Perfect to start the weekend, pick up a bottle we’re open until 6pm. 🍷

These wines from Villa Nora are made with minimal intervention and without the addition of sulphites. The carefully selected grapes for the red were received into the winery via gravity and were traditionally vinified. Fermentation took place with natural yeasts and maturation was in concrete tanks for six months. The grapes for the white wine were also received via gravity but they were immediatley pressed to extract the juice. Vinification took place in concrete tanks to allow the purity of the fruit and the wine’s natural characteristics to shine through. We think they’re absolutely brilliant and won’t give you a sore head the next day! We’re open from tomorrow at 10am if you fancy a bottle?

Castello Banfi was founded in 1978 by the Mariani family, Italian-Americans who had been involved in wine importing and distribution since 1919. They saw great potential in this then sleepy Tuscan region and from the start their goal was to establish a point of excellence in Montalcino.

Mollydooker Wines (Aussie for left hander because the founders are both left handed) was established in 2006 in the McLaren Vale with a state-of-the-art winery and 114 acres vineyards. They have won many accolades over the years including: Australian Boutique Winemakers of the Year, Australian White Wine Makers of the Year, Robert Parker’s Wine Personalities of the Year and so on.

Beaujolais Nouveau Day is here! It has become a world-wide celebration of the release of Beaujolais Nouveau – a red wine from Beaujolais in the Burgundy region of France.

The annual release of Beaujolais Nouveau is on the third Thursday of November every year. This liberation of the young red wine, made with Gamay grapes harvested just six to eight weeks before bottling is accompanied by fireworks, music and festivities in Beaujolais. It’s an excuse for a party in towns and cities in France as bars and restaurants offer Beaujolais to customers for the night and then often for a limited period after.

Happy Halloween!🎃 Although there’s nothing remotely scary about these wines from BIDEONA MAYELA each using different illustrations on the labels in tribute to the wine growers. We think they look great!

The tasting note of these riojas outlines a pure and intense aroma of dark cherries and blackberries which are layered with a hint of violet and clove. The concentrated fruit is beautifully balanced by a fresh palate with chiselled, chalky tannins and a long, mineral finish. Pop in and grab yourself a bottle today!
