E Bulled & Sons

E Bulled & Sons Local Village Store and Post Office The shop has been in North Molton since the 1850s. And then it became Bulleds.

Permanently closed.

First in Sladers Cottage, and then in 1951 the current shop was built by E.J.Kingdon of South Molton, on the site of the Police Station. Doing a bit of research in 1851 Elizabeth Bird was running a grocery and habidashery business from the old shop and her son Thomas was a butcher. This ties in with what Morley Bulled said that his father as a young boy remembered livestock being taken up the pas

sage way to the building out the back. Then Mr Darlington a mine worker from Cornwall took it on being run by his wife and a daughter that married George Bulled.

It's hard to believe it has already been a year since we began funding a part-time counsellor at the Over and Above Fern Centre . Paul has been an invaluable asset to the counselling services offered to those affected by cancer. Throughout the past year, Paul has provided support to 75 clients through a mix of in-person, virtual, and telephone appointments, amounting to a total of 350 hours of counselling.

Thanks to the incredible support ChemoHero has received over the years, we are thrilled to announce that we are able to continue funding Paul's crucial role at the Fern Centre. The entire ChemoHero team would like to express our deepest gratitude to Paul for his dedication and hard work. We firmly believe that addressing the mental health aspects of a cancer diagnosis is of utmost importance, and we are committed to ensuring that this service not only continues but hopefully grows over time.

If you're interested in learning more about Paul and his background, you can find his bio on our Team Page by following this link:

Dear Customers,
As you might be aware we put the business on the market in October 2020.
Nothing has been forthcoming from this so after 36 plus years we have come to the decision to retire.
A lot of consideration has gone into making this decision. It has certainly not been an easy one to make. We have brought up our children in the village and have made many friends over the years.
We will be closing the doors of the Shop & Post Office on Friday 23rd December at 1pm.
We know this will have an impact on many of our loyal customers and we hope everyone can understand our position.
However, although this has not been confirmed, we would assume that some sort of Post Office service would be brought to the village in the near future.
Colin & Sue Wallis.

It is the time of the year to pack a shoe box.
Boxes are in the shop and there is an information leaflet inside.
There is a bit of a shortage of empty boxes so if you have any spare shoe boxes could you drop them in the shop so they can be used.
