Hope you are all having an amazing and restful festive time.
Thanks to all of our lovely customers. Our shops are insanely busy the last couple of days before Christmas, so thanks for all your patience, especially if you had to queue. We really hope we recommended some fantastic wines and we managed to find you that obscure bottle you were after.
Thanks to all of our suppliers, especially those who came and did barrel tops and showcased some of their brilliant products. We really do appreciate you giving up your time.
Finally a huge thanks to the team at StarmoreBoss. December is a challenging time in any retail or customer facing business so the dedication and professionalism of our team is hugely important in delivering the best shopping experience. Thank you.all, you all did an amazing job.
Our Sharrow Vale store is back open tomorrow, and through to New Year's eve when we close at 4pm. We'll be running a slightly reduced team as people are away with family and we are out of stock of a couple of items, but with over 1000+ bottles on the shelf we've probably got you covered.

🎄It’s Christmas! 🎄

The shops are packed full to the brim and there’s just a week left to get ourselves sorted. Lots of fun things in the shops but, before that, we have IMPORTANT info to tell you so don’t ignore it please 🙂.

OPENING HOURS ✨
Excellent news, both shops are open everyday until Christmas so plenty of time to shop.
A side note about ranmoor, we’ll be trying our best to get there on time but Sharrow is like a vortex that you get sucked in to, especially this time of year! So it can be difficult to get out, please bare with us!

ORDERING 🎁
Last order dates for dpd and click and collect above. Please get any DPD orders in TODAY. Tomorrow is the cut off! Click and collect is available until Saturday.
For click and collect orders, please wait until we’ve contacted you to say it ready before coming to collect.

OTHER THINGS 🎅
- IT’S GOING TO GET REALLY BUSY. Please bare with us, we’re a small team and are all delusional 🫠. We can be helped with sweet treats… 😏
Jeff’s previous post details this really well.
- Whilst we will try our best to find the perfect thing, please be aware that if you’re after something particular, it might now be a little too late. We’ve got plenty of options and advise but if you need a specific item that we don’t have it in stock, it’s unlikely we can get it before Christmas as many of our suppliers have last order deadlines too.
- If you have specific requests, please email them over to [email protected]. Please don’t DM us through socials, it’s taken long enough to get this post up (should have done it on Monday 😂) so there’s no chance we’ve got time to check messages, sorry.

Okay, FUN THINGS!
Lots and lots of wine, beer, spirits etc. as well as cute Christmas things like our Christmas beers and crackers!
We’re also got sample sessions all week at Sharrow too and plenty to sample.
The shops both look pretty and festive thanks to the lovely 🥰

Look forward to seeing you all for Christmas chaos! 🤩

Xmas Opening hours for Sharrow Vale Rd.
Don't forget, we've got in store spirits tastings EVERY SINGLE DAY until the 23rd. With HUGE discounts on the products being poured but on THAT DAY ONLY.
Full details are on our website.
And here's a note about shopping at our stores over the next couple of weeks.
We really love Christmas at StarmoreBoss. It's so much fun pairing wines and recommending some of our favourite things we've discovered this year. We've got loads of things to taste and special guests in our Sharrow Vale store every day!
But....
It gets really busy at Christmas at both our stores, especially our Sharrow Vale Road shop. Priority will always be given to our customers in the store, so if you are phoning we are probably not going to pick it up in time so please leave a message, but it might be at the end of the day by the time we get to listen to it.
Both stores are really small and our range is pretty large, some of our stock is highly specialist and our store members have different knowledge of our products. We also like to spend time with our customers to make sure they have the best customer service. So if you’re after a few different things it’s likely that you’ll be served by a couple of different store members.
.
Christmas shopping can be stressful and time consuming, so if you’re in a rush try and visit us towards the end of the day when the shop is a little quieter, or on a weekday or Sunday.
We can’t take orders or respond to questions placed over social media (Facebook, Instagram etc) during December. You can email us specific requests to our [email protected] email.
Can't wait to see you all..X

Perdido Tempranillo
Spaceman Red
Coming in as a late contender as one of our wines of the year, this little parcel is a 90 Pointer in Decanter magazine.

Juicy and easy and full and complex.

We've snapped up as much of this as we can, and sitting in our everyday faves, where all of our wines are under £15, this delicious Tempranillo is representing some of the best bang-for-buck wines around

🍇 Happy Beaujolais Nouveau Day! 🍇

It’s the most wonderful time of the year… Beaujolais Nouveau day! The third Thursday of November marks the day when the new wine can be legally sold, drunk and enjoyed. It marks the end of the season for winemakers has become somewhat of a party within the wine industry with fetes happening across the whole of the region and many other places- many bars and restaurants in the UK celebrate with tastings, events and parties too! 🎉
Beaujolais Nouveau is characteristically bright, juicy and vibrant and designed to be drunk young. It’s often light and easy going making it a really fab option for a quaffable red. 😋

We’ve got the very first vintages from this year in both shops and ready drink for a limited time only. Having had Michel Dupre’s nouveau for the past few years, we’re very excited to crack one open and give it a try. But, once it’s gone, it’s gone for the year so don’t hang around to grab a bottle! 🏃🏼

We’ve also got a limited amount of the Italian Novello offerings too but, again, these won’t be around for long! 🍷

LAST FEW TICKETS REMAINING.
BOOK ONLINE AT STARMOREBOSS.COM

We welcome the Glengyle distillery to Sheffield as part of the Kilkerran 20th Anniversary UK Tasting tour.

Founded in 1872 before shutting its doors in 1925 as part of the widespread closure of whisky distilleries in Campbletown, the Glengyle distillery was brought back to life in 2000.

Known as the sister distillery to the legendary Springbank distillery, the Glengyle distillery uses the same malt that is all hand malted on the famous malting floors of Springbank. Bottling its whisky under the name of Kilkerran the distillate is now shingin in its own right to its more famous sibling.

Come join us as we welcome the distillery as they pour some incredible drams from the range. We’ll be offering a ONE OFF, hugely competitive discounted bottle price ONLY available for the attendees on the night across a range of the Kilkerran products being shown.

Bread Cheese Wine, a combination of dreams 😍

Now we’ve got ourselves into gear again with social media, it’s time to properly update you all on our autumn antics, starting with Bread Cheese Wine (a.k.a BCW). We hosted our first BCW in September and it was a huge success! Thank you for these stunning pictures! 🥰

For those that don’t know BCW was something we did regularly pre-pandemic (back when Tonco was Seven Hills!) when Seven Hills, Porter Brook Deli and ourselves had this collaborative idea to bring together three simple pleasures of life. Unfortunately, as with most things, the pandemic put a halt to that and, as we all tried to wade our way out of it, the concept got put very much in the back burner. That being said, it’s been something we’ve thought about bringing back for some time but it’s not quite been the right time until this year.

So the concept is very much the same: three simple pleasures of bread, cheese and wine from , and ourselves brought to you for ultimate enjoyment. Each month, we’ll be exploring a different loose theme and bringing you the finest selection of delicious things. 🥖🧀🍷

And if you’re sad to have missed out, fear not! We’ll be doing this on the first week of the month so keep your eyes peeled for future events. And if you can’t wait, we have just a few spaces remaining for our evening this Wednesday 6th November. They won’t be around for long! Head to the link in bio to get tickets! 🎟️

👻Happy Halloween! 👻 And hi, it’s been a while! 👋

After an unplanned hiatus from social media, here’s a little round up of everything that’s been going on during Autumn- it’s been a BUSY one.

- We started with the RETURN OF BREAD CHEESE WINE! YAY! If you missed out, fear not! Bread Cheese Wine will be happening the first Wednesday and Thursday of each month (except January) which means we’re back next week! AND we have tickets available for Wednesday evening! Head to the link in bio to snap them up… 🥖🧀🍷
- Jeff headed to Japan with the wonderful ! He had a jam packed week with the Akashi-Tai team and even got to help make sake too! 🇯🇵🍶
- We hosted many tastings at our lovely Ranmoor shop. From rum, to wine and cheese to private events, we’ve had all sorts during Autumn. There’s just a handful of tastings to book before the end of the year but we’ll be releasing our 2025 winter lineup soon! 🥂
- The Drinks Festival returned! It was a fabulous day and we want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone (suppliers, attendees, Hideaway members) for helping making it another brilliant Drinks Fest 🥰. More snippets to come including a few more from post festival ridiculousness 😂.
- Jeff then jetted off again to Ireland for a night with . They were treated to delicious whiskey and fresh oysters! 🇮🇪🥃
- Hannah headed off to Rioja (via an uplanned diversion to Bordeaux…) with to visit the lovely Melanie and David of (a.k.a Struggling Vines) and helped with the punch downs. Rioja in Autumn is STUNNING. 🍂🍷
- Hannah then headed to in the Basque country for a masterclass on Txakoli. Such an interesting visit look how lush this vineyards are! The group were then treated to classic pinxos and wine in Bilbao. 🌿🥂
- The warehouse has become box city as we’ve been working to sort all the drinks fest orders out… at least it’s not in the shop! 📦😂
- Lots and lots of tastings. The fashion world has fashion week, we have tasting season. This lovely line up was from our friends at and was perfect for a Friday evening! 🍾
- Then, to finish off, Happy Halloween 🎃.

Back on the shelf. But not for long.
Fortaleza Tequila.
One of the most respected and sought after tequilas.
Everything at Fortaleza is done the old fashioned way, how it would have been done 125 years ago by Guillermo Sauza's great great grandfather.
Crushing blue agave with the stone tahona.
Oven cooked agave.
Distilled in some of the smallest stills in tequila production (225l and 400l).
Estate bottled, in hand-blown glass, with hand-made Pina stoppers: every bottle is unique.
Each part of the process, meticulously overseen to create one of the best tasting tequilas around.
The production costs and the number of people involved in creating these drinks means these bottles are not cheap but they are worth every penny.
We don't get many of these anymore so get a bottle while you can. Available in store and on our website. Sorry our international friends, we can only ship to mainland UK.

Foursquare Rum needs little introduction to the rum fan!

Redefining the very notion of what sipping rum can be Richard Seale’s Barbados distillery has become one of the most revered distilleries on the planet with his rums picking up a staggering number of medals and accolades.

Join us alongside Pete Holland, Foursquare Rum Amabassador, as we tak about the history and production of the distillery, rum in Barbados and taste through the core range and, no doubt, some incredibly rare and limited bottles too.

Starting off our Autumn tasting calendar in style with 🍂🥂

September has hit, Summer suddenly is over and Autumn is upon us. Even though we’re sad to see summer go, autumn is always an exciting time for us with plenty of tastings. And what better way to kick off the calendar than with an exclusive champagne tasting next Thursday! 🍾

Billecart Salmon has been our long time ‘go-to’ champagne for anyone wanting a superb quality champagne. We’ve been fortunate enough to stock the range for some years and, in recent years, host the lovely Charlie at our Ranmoor shop for exclusive tastings. These have always been a highlight in the calendar and we’re extra lucky to work with to pair each champagne with a delicious cheese. It’s a once year event that we love hosting (as per Hannah’s happy little face pouring Vintage 2008 from a few years back)! ☺️

We’ve got a couple of extra tickets available at the link in our bio. This years line up features 6 champagnes paired with 6 cheeses, including 3(!) of their spectacular founders reserve wines. It’s really not one to be missed! It’ll be held at our shop in Ranmoor on Thursday 12th September. 🎟️

Find all the details on our website along with some other events coming up in the next few months. 🎉

It’s a big sporting weekend, England, are we ready?! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

This weekend is turning out to be quite sporting weekend! We’ve got the Wimbledon women’s final on Saturday, Wimbledon men’s final that will the see a world no.3 and Spanish player head to centre court on Sunday aaand there is just the small thing of the Euros final… 👀
•
We know a lot of people will be out on Sunday night but for those hosting/spending the weekend in front of the TV, we’ve got some inspiration for you! Look, we LOVE our Spanish products- some of our and your favourites are Spanish gems- but there feels like there is really only one thing to be drinking and eating this weekend… English Sparkling Wine and chippy chips! 🥂🍟

Why English Sparkling? There’s a few tedious sporting links we’re running with but it’s a great wine to celebrate with and there’s nothing better than a quality sparkling with chip shop chips- seriously, give it a go!
1. Wimbledon is synonymous with Champagne, strawberries and cream but, with it being a truly British event, an english sparkling made with the same grapes as champagne and in the same way is the perfect serve. 🎾
2. Sunday night will be a historic game for the England team and, if they win, it’ll be a first for them as they’ve never won abroad. They’ll be putting their best foot forward and so are we with english sparkling. It’ll be incredibly fitting if they DO win and if not, at least it was delicious. ⚽️
3. Finally, regardless of the result tomorrow, we can at least celebrate English achievements in the F1! There’s no race this weekend, but last weekend’s race hasn’t just passed us by with an incredible win from Sir Lewis Hamilton as he took his first no.1 podium since 2021, at his home race of Silverstone. The F1’s choice of fizz is the Ferrari Brut, a traditional method, 100% Chardonnay fizz from Northern Italy but an English fizz to toast to a fantastic British achievements seems more fitting! 🏎

And of course, you could be avoiding sports at all costs! Either way, we’ll be open until 7pm for your drinks needs whatever your weekend plans are! 🎉

⚽️ Euros booze ⚽️

It’s the Euro quarter finals! We should have posted this yesterday but Hannah went on holiday and she does this stuff 🤣. BUT here’s some drink inspo for the final 8 (now 6, sorry Germany and Portugal) ahead of today’s games. ⚽️

England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 vs Switzerland🇨🇭
English cider is great at the moment! And an English sparkling is always a good idea.
The Swiss side was a little tricky… we have a tiny amount of Swiss wine but it comes at a price. However, we do have a Swiss single malt!

Netherlands 🇳🇱 vs Turkey 🇹🇷
As Holland is thought to be the birth place of gin, it’s the perfect choice! You could go historically classic with a jenever or try Bobby’s for something more modern.
Turkey was reeeaallly tricky as we only stockone Turkish wine (it’s very good) but we’re out of it at the moment! So we looked to neighbouring Georgia, a really historical wine making country and also participants of the euros who made it to the last 16. Pheasant’s Tears is a cult from Georgia and well worth a try for something a little different!

Spain 🇪🇸 vs Germany 🇩🇪
Lots of Spanish wine to choose from but we’re loving these atm. Torello is a Corpinnat (think champagne from Penedes) that’s super elegant and apt for any Spanish fans. Don Tinto is the red partner to the ever popular Chin Chin from the Keeling and Andrew portfolio (need I say more?).
We couldn’t NOT do a Riesling for Germany and sweary Riesling is a forever fave, not just because of the label. And of course, the home lager, a staple for many football fans, our German beer selection had to make it the line up!

Portugal 🇵🇹 vs France 🇫🇷
Merging the greats with some new bits here. Azulejo has been in our top sellers for YEARS and is always a winner. And a new fave of ours recently is the Las Lilas Rosé Vinho Verde. Seriously good and super light.
We could be here all day when it comes to talking about French booze but, if you’re a French fan, you’re likely popping the champagne after last night. Of course, we’re choosing Billecart. Of course! For extra decadence, have it as a champagne cocktail with the delightful H by Hine Hine Cognac.

So, who’s winning?!🥇

What’s on the agenda for July? Rum month!🌴🍹👀

We’ve been pretty wine heavy on insta recently and a little quiet over in spirits land so it’s time for a switch up! So, with the sun FINALLY making an appearance and school holiday approaching, we thought we’d head somewhere a little more tropical for the summer with and .brands! Whilst a lot of the rum we know is from the Caribbean, Takamaka actually comes from the Seychelles. It’s a dream destination for many so we thought we’d try bring a tiny slice to Sheffield. We’ve found the inflatables (r.i.p to the inflatable flamingo, that needs replacing asap) so a fun, rum filled window is pending! 🌴

More rum things planned for July, it’s going to be good fun! 🍹

🥂🇬🇧English Wine Week🇬🇧🥂
•
is just around the corner BUT it’s currently ! And we’ve had a full restock of everyone’s favourite local wine, for . 🍾

English wine week, much like Sheff Wine Week is all about showcasing the extraordinary english wine industry. According to a Decanter article dated June 2023, we now have nearly 1000 vineyards across the UK with nearly 4000 hectares under vine! Admittedly, it’s not a patch on the nearly 40,000 vineyards of Italy BUT it’s an incredible amount for the UK and it’s certainly a growing industry. We’re specialist at making sparkling wines but we also make a range of fabulous white, rose and reds. It’ll be interesting to see how the industry continues to develop over the next few years. 🥂
•
One of those vineyards is the glorious walled garden at the back of Renishaw Hall. Run by winemaker Kieron and a dedicated team of volunteers, they make a range of delightful wines that we’ve grown to love. They’re now back in stock at both shops which we’re very glad about because it’s never a good thing when we run out. 🍷
•
We also have stock of their handy new cider in a pouch! Ideal for festival season and weekend plans now the summer weather has FINALLY decided to make an appearance… We also hear there’s other flavour and styles to come! 🌞
