I am thrilled to share that I've been honoured with Better Retailing’s coveted Retail Superstar of the Future award! 🏆

It's such an incredible privilege to be recognized for my work as one of the youngest postmistresses in the UK and being crowned a Better Retailing 30 Under Thirty winner for 2023. I couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity to serve my community.

Running the Stannington Road Post Office has been an amazing journey filled with challenges, but I've been able to meet each one head-on with determination and a passion for providing top-notch service. From overcoming disruptions to ensuring smooth newspaper deliveries with my trusty electric scooter, to constantly seeking ways to enhance our retail offerings for our wonderful community—every moment has been a rewarding experience.

Receiving this award is not just a personal achievement, but a testament to the incredible support of my customers! I'm also incredibly grateful to my father and mother for their guidance and support as I continue to grow and learn in this role. Together, we're building a legacy of excellence at our Post Office, and I'm so excited for what the future holds.

The ability to thrive under pressure and succeed has landed one of Britain’s youngest postmistresses with a coveted retail superstar of the future award.

Celebrate Mother's Day on the 10th of March with a thoughtfully selected present and a uniquely designed card.

Little fact: Mother’s Day began in America in 1907.
Anna Jarvis, the daughter of a peace activist who treated wounded soldiers in the American Civil War, campaigned for a day to honour the role played by mothers. She observed the second Sunday in May, as that was when she held a service to honour her mother when she passed.
The idea gained much attraction that by 1911, all US states took on the holiday.
It was declared a national holiday by President Woodrow Wilson in 1914, who officially stated it should be held in May.
Unfortunately even though she founded the holiday, Ms Jarvis later strongly opposed its growing commercialisation and eventually campaigned against it.
With time the tradition became known in the UK, and Mothering Sunday became more popularly viewed as Mother’s Day and is held in March unlike the US💕💖🥰

World Book Day📖will be taking place on Thursday 7 March 2024. This annual celebration of authors, illustrators, books and the joy of reading is one of the highlights of the year for the National Literacy Trust!

Did you know- At the end of the 5th century, Roman Pope Gelasius officially declared the date of February 14 "St. Valentine's Day." Although It wasn't until the Middle Ages, that the holiday became associated with love and romance, a tradition that first started from the common belief in France and England that birds started their mating season on February 14.
