Nicola Bergaglio Minaia Gavi del Comune di Gavi Rovereto.

Nicola Bergaglio is a small family producer in Gavi, northwest Italy. They may be enigmatic by modern standards, but who needs an insta account when your wine is this good? This is my favourite Gavi and one of the best white wines I've tasted recently.

The nose is bursting with green apple pear, lemon and lime, with gentle notes of white flowers and wet stone.

The palate is dry and medium-bodied with characteristic crisp acidity. The citrus and tree fruit are joined by peach and apricot and hints of tropical fruit.

There is a light creaminess and a touch of honey, with almond, fresh herbs, and a flinty minerality on the long finish. Complex but easy-drinking and refreshing, this is a beautifully pure expression of the Cortese grape.

This is a wine that's happy by itself, but Gavi is a perfect accompaniment to seafood and pasta dishes. For a real treat, try with scallops.

We're very pleased to have a couple of brews from on our shelves. They make beer with minimal modern intervention, relying on local wild yeast cultures and the influence of nature to ferment.

SAISON CIDER CASK / 7.2% / 750ml
This 4th edition of Saison Cider Cask blends four barrels produced in 2020 and 2022. The contrasting brews used a variety of grains and a mixture of aged and fresh European hops. Fermentation took place in fresh cider barrels from Oliver's Cider and Perry, as well as Ross-on-Wye Cider and Perry Company. The finished blend was dry-hopped with while-leaf Kazbek and Brewers Gold, before conditioning in bottle.

RUNNING BEER / 5.5% / 750ml
This beer is a blend of two brews produced in May 2020, and June 2022. The older beer in this blend is from the same brews as the younger beer in the previous Running Beer. The worts were made using malted rye and aged hops. They fermented and matured in a mixture of French and American oak barrels, previously used by Bourbon whiskey and Burgundy white wine producers.

Sharrowvale Market is just one day away! We're running our famous tasting stall again tomorrow, so join us outside the store and taste some great wines.

We have five of our favourite wines to pour, with an emphasis on summer flavours.

San Lorenzo Chianti is light, juicy and fresh, with cherries, berries, and fresh herbs.

Zensa Nero di T***a shows aromas of violet, blueberry, and dark fruit, with chocolate, coffee, and spicy notes. Complex but easy-drinking.

Conde Villar Vinho Verde is a real summer treat. Citrus, pear, and apple aromas meet a light and fresh palate with a gentle fiizz.

Naturalmente Bio Grillo from has floral, stone fruit and tropical fruit aromas in abundance. Full-bodied with a silky texture.

English Rosé is the English summer in a bottle. Red summer fruits meet the perfect balance between creamy vanilla and crisp, refreshing acidity.
