Whoaaaa hasn’t Sam been busy!! 🪚 🔨

In just a couple of days he’s put together this amazing new bar for the brand new drinking in space!! 🤩 We even ordered comfy, snazzy cushions yesterday to make sure the chairs are comfy… We’re hoping you won’t want to leave when we reopen and you next visit us! 🥳

Week 4️⃣

This week the builders have finished their tasks 🤟🏼 We have a whole new bathroom, gorgeous new flooring, plus a brand new staircase! 😮

So now again is Sam’s turn, he has started the decorating portion of the renovation by creating this stunning feature wooden wall, and will move on to building the bar and setting up the space 🤩

He has ordered all the new chairs, tables, lighting, decor and they should all be arriving soon 👌🏼 Plus the painters are starting on Saturday to really get the ball rolling 🎨

Aaaaand we have new, better windows currently being made for us!! 🪟 All the better to see the beautiful St Ives Harbour through 😍

Super excited to be welcoming customers into this new area of John’s!! 🍻 🥂

If you have been along Fore Street in the last couple of days, you may have noticed our little shop is closed, you may even have read the notices up in the windows! 📝

We are currently shut whilst we work on renovations. We appreciate your continued support and hopefully you can share our excitement during this time. We can’t wait to share the shops developments with you once we reopen!

Today for • Day Three • the Whisky Counter top has been removed by Sam and the boarding on the stairs has been taken down. We will soon be ready to redo the walls, put in new stairs and refresh the whole area. A redesign upstairs is coming, as well as a new bathroom downstairs ready for our customers! 😍 🍻

DAY • TWO •

Today saw Sam in store dismantling the whisky counter! Tom joined him for an hour to collect the last of the wine crates from the shop and take the two large wine & rum tables!

This has truly opened up so much space, and the natural light coming in from the two harbour windows is absolutely gorgeous! 🌅 We are so excited to turn this space into something lovely for you guys! 😉 🍻

‘Canyero Ron Miel Honey Rum’…. We simply can’t keep this on the shelves!!!

It’s a cult classic - blended Caribbean rum and absolutely delicious Spanish honey. The taste is of sunny Spanish evenings. Making you think of holiday sun, the seaside and relaxation! A perfect winter tipple. Just perfect on its own or mixed into a cocktail 🤩

Dreaming of those sunnier days ☀️

In typical August fashion it’s been • wet wet wet • in St Ives for the school holidays! 🌧️ Here’s hoping for a lovely warm September.

Did you know we don’t just champion Cornish Ciders? We also sell a great variety of Piltons and Perrys and fine Ciders which are available in a handy 750ml bottle. These are great for sharing - So if you fancy trying something different then pop in and see us and look at the range we have on offer!

Pictured is ‘Hard Rain - Hot Pink’ a 2022 take on an old classic - Ciderkin! At a delightful 3.4% abv and made with Dragon Orchard and Kingston Black apples. This is a super refreshing drink, lightly sparkling and bursting with gorgeous blackcurrant notes from the local organic blackcurrant cordial that the cider is conditioned with! Perfect for chilling well and enjoying when the sun does appear 🌞 Cheers! 🍻

St Ives & Fowey shops open till 8pm this evening and stocking a huge amount of craft beers, quality ciders, unusual liqueurs, and all your favourite spirits! 🥂 There’s even a generous champagne offering if you feel like really spoiling your loved ones 🤩

Offshore Pilsner by

A bestseller in the shop, Sharps Brewery ‘Offshore’ Pilsner was awarded world’s best larger in 2013, international Bronze in 2019 and Global Beer Masters Bronze 2019. The brewery is located in Rock, just 15 miles from Padstow and just an hour away from the Devon/Cornwall border. The brewery has a taproom and hosts tasting sessions. There is also a shop on site.

Alternatively when in St Ives or Fowey pop into our little shop and pick up a few cans for tasting! 🤤

Offshore is described as a beer that is crisp and light with clean fruity notes. It is a pale straw beer that has a brisk finish and a lovely citrus finish, and pleasant lemon aroma.
