Well what can I say a big Thank You to everyone who made today a wee bit special for us on our last day . Customers and staff old and new stopped by to say there goodbyes and wish us well, it means a lot Thank You .

The Corner Shop/Food To Go will close its doors for the last time this Friday the 12th January. The Henderson family have been serving the people of Renfrew and surrounding areas for the last 26 years. From the early days when pupils from all the surrounding high schools would gather outside the shop at the end of a school day to talk about their day and what they where going to be getting up to at the weekend. Those pupils laid the foundations for a great relationship with the area and the community.
Then to the more recent events of a pandemic when the shop stood tall and served its community through the most challenging events never seen before, delivering to the most needy 7 days a week sometimes just a newspaper, bread or a pint of milk or even just a chat on the phone or at their front door when making a delivery we have been thanked many times for providing this service but all i can say is It was our pleasure.
With Stephen leaving the business after 21 years it was down to Sharon, Marc and myself to carry on the business as we seen fit so we decided to promote our Food To Go counter more than the shop which proved to be the right decision with small shops starting to struggle after the pandemic. Food To Go was going from strength to strength collecting 5 star reviews in both Just Eat & Uber Eats on regular occasions and found ourself busier than ever proving we made the right decision for our business.
We have lost customers/friends along the way to accidents or illnesses none more so than the man who established the business along side Stephen and myself 26 years ago my father Jim who we lost almost 2 years ago who loved doing his Sunday shift along with my mother supplying the Sunday papers and of course preparing orders for family’s coming back from church for their square sausage, bacon, potato scones, soft or crispy rolls for their weekly family breakfasts.
I would like to thank all our staff who have worked for us especially the boys and girls who worked at night in the shop I hoped you all got a lot of experience and confidence from your first job and that you carried it on into your adult life’s.
Finally I would like to thank all our customers over the past 26 years who have gave their loyalty to the family and the shop without you we would never have made it .

The shop will reopen in 3/4 weeks after refurbishments have taken place with new owners, I hope you will support them the way you have supported us.
