WOW, just WOW!
What can we say? What an event it was on the 29th September Cartners No.5, you blew us away raising £2659 at the auction for the town centre defibrillator. You've exceeded our expectations and we are amazed at the support from local businesses, and some not so local.

So now we can look at a possible 3rd Defibrillator in the town centre. With ongoing fundraising we could possibly buy the units and lockable coded heated cabinets for three venues, which will include Pontefract Town Hall being installed by the Council. the other two venues, Cartners No5 and near to The Old Post Office, both needing a qualified electrician to wire them in and certify the instillation.

We will continue the fundraising to support the annual cost of the units. Any surplus will be used for Pontefract town centre events, thereby benefitting the whole community.

We are grateful to all who have supported the auction with donations and bidding on the day; a few to mention are Pontefract Art Club, Kayla’s Kandy, Pickerings Of Pontefract, Pontefract Decoration Squad, Inline Kitchens & Bedrooms, Iron Dram, HeadHunters Pontefract, Cromwells Tea Rooms, The Hair Lounge Pontefract, TD Security Solutions, House of Ales, Hale Civic Society, GREG UPSON ADI,Castleford Tigers, Cartners No5 and any we may have missed.

Vault City Brewing's Sugar 'n' Spice Maple Pecan Pumpkin Pie is a dessert sour beer inspired by pumpkin and apple pie. It's described as sweet and warming, and is topped with whipped cream, maple drizzle, and pecans.

Vault City's Shake S'more is a campfire sour beer that combines a blueberry and honeyberry shake with a mixed fermentation base beer, toasted marshmallow, and maple syrup.

A huge congratulations to our friends Dave and Amanda at The Old Grocers 🥳 🙌

I would like to take this opportunity to share my local Micropub's presentation for Pub of the Season by Wakefield CAMRA. A thoroughly well deserved award!

The Old Grocers, a Micropub that opened in June 2019, was transformed from a Hair and Beauty Salon. Historically, the building served as a Grocery Shop known as "Slaters." Visitors are always greeted with a warm welcome from proprietors Dave and Amanda. The establishment spans two floors and frequently hosts Sunday acoustic afternoons, featuring a delightful array of cheeses and sandwiches.

The selection of ales is consistently impressive, offering a variety of pale ales, bitters, and dark beers, with options that frequently change, showcasing both local and distant breweries.

If you have not yet had the chance to visit, I highly recommend doing so!
