£19 each. You can reserve them. We're open 3 - 6 pm daily.

And we're definitely NOT closed for Lincoln's Birthday🤔. We're not even closed for MY birthday! We're open every day, Monday to Sunday, 3pm - 6pm.

It's good when things are moving... right? Spot the difference every time you come in to shop.
Yes, the floors need repairing, yes, the walls need painting, the materials are on order and I'm watching YouTube videos on "How to...", so I'm having a lot of fun with this. Please bear with me while I find the right spaces for the right things, it's all a work in progress!
There will be no disruption to service, the Skello Shop is open every day 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Did you know that we still order in fresh meat at the Skello Shop?

Every week, we get one delivery from an Orkney butcher's - Donaldson's comes in on a Wednesday, Flett's on a Friday the next week.
Here's a photo of a selection of what's in the chiller at the moment.
What doesn't sell will be put in the freezer on the sell-by date, from where you can buy it at 10% off.
We're open 3 - 6 p.m every day (including Sundays), and the Post Office is open at those hours too.

We have 3 open bottles on the counter, just ask. In my experience, these all taste better with mixers as advised on their website and leaflets, but I've been drinking them neat like a grown-up 😂 The effect is the same after all.

Did you know that we still order in FRESH BREAD at the Skello Shop? Do customers still want that?

Our regular deliveries:
Wednesday night - ARGOS bread (rolls, cream cookies, loaf, vanilla slices)
Friday morning - WESTRAY BAKEHOUSE (sultana loaf, rolls, butteries, white loaf, granary cob, currant rolls)
Friday night - HOVIS (all types)
We also have LONG LIFE options available - baguettes, white loaf, naan bread, wraps, waffles.
Please bear in mind that if it's not required (and we throw away too much) we'll have to discontinue, so let us know what you need, or have a look around when you're here.

On Saturday 1st February all those lovely items will go back to their original price, and you might kick yourself that you've not had a proper rummage.

Is the Skello Shop closing down?... No!!

Will there still be chilled and frozen goods, fruit & veg, bread and meat?... Yes, but a little less variety. Talk to us, so we know what you want and need.

Why all the changes?... We want to achieve # lower electricity costs # less food waste # reduced staff costs. To get there, we have changed the opening hours to afternoons only (every day 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. including Sundays), we will reduce chiller and freezer space, we're consolidating delivery days / pick-ups from the hauliers, and we're focusing on long life products such as coffee & homebakes, toiletries, alcohol & to***co (including vapes), speciality foods (gluten free, world foods) and housewares, toys and gifts. We're playing to our strengths, and meeting customer demand.

It will take a little while for all the changes to take place, we're working really hard behind the scenes. Feedback, advice and encouragement are always most welcome!

Meanwhile, there is a SALE on - click through the pictures to see examples of items and prices. EVERYTHING in the shop that has yellow price stickers costs HALF of the marked price, all through January. Housewares, greeting cards, gifts, toys... come and have a rummage. On 1 February, all items will revert to their original price, so don't miss out while you can get it cheaper.

Why sell off so many items?... The purpose is to clear the shelves and use the proceeds to invest in newer, refreshed lines of stock. Grab a bargain in the process!!!

That way you will get any updates from us in your Facebook feed. It will also help us (and any other businesses you're supporting) if you LIKE posts or write comments. Facebook is a cruel place, it will totally let you forget us otherwise!

This is only a SELECTION of what's in the half price sale at the Skello Shop. EVERYTHING anywhere in the shop with a price sticker on (toys, housewares, bedding, stationery, gifts, craft items) is HALF PRICE all through January.
Massive clear out. Come and have a look!
