Is the Skello Shop closing down?... No!!
🍏🥕🍞🍗🍨
Will there still be chilled and frozen goods, fruit & veg, bread and meat?... Yes, but a little less variety. Talk to us, so we know what you want and need.

Why all the changes?... We want to achieve # lower electricity costs # less food waste # reduced staff costs. To get there, we have changed the opening hours to afternoons only (every day 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. including Sundays), we will reduce chiller and freezer space, we're consolidating delivery days / pick-ups from the hauliers, and we're focusing on long life products such as coffee & homebakes, toiletries, alcohol & to***co (including vapes), speciality foods (gluten free, world foods) and housewares, toys and gifts. We're playing to our strengths, and meeting customer demand.

It will take a little while for all the changes to take place, we're working really hard behind the scenes. Feedback, advice and encouragement are always most welcome!

Meanwhile, there is a SALE on - click through the pictures to see examples of items and prices. EVERYTHING in the shop that has yellow price stickers costs HALF of the marked price, all through January. Housewares, greeting cards, gifts, toys... come and have a rummage. On 1 February, all items will revert to their original price, so don't miss out while you can get it cheaper.

Why sell off so many items?... The purpose is to clear the shelves and use the proceeds to invest in newer, refreshed lines of stock. Grab a bargain in the process!!!

Finally, a plea: We do not want to clutter the Westray page with our adverts too often. Please click on our Skello Shop page and LIKE and FOLLOW. That way you will get any updates from us in your Facebook feed. It will also help us (and any other businesses you're supporting) if you LIKE posts or write comments. Facebook is a cruel place, it will totally let you forget us otherwise!

This is only a SELECTION of what's in the half price sale at the Skello Shop. EVERYTHING anywhere in the shop with a price sticker on (toys, housewares, bedding, stationery, gifts, craft items) is HALF PRICE all through January.
Massive clear out. Come and have a look!
After January, all unsold items will go back to their original price, or on Ebay.

Open 10-6 today Saturday 4 January, for the last time.
Tomorrow Sunday it will be 2-5, for the last time.
Then it will be 3 p.m - 6 p.m. every day of the week.

If today feels a bit too adventurous to get these goodies before we close at 6, we're open tomorrow 2 - 5 p.m. The cherries are divine, and why not try some star fruit, figs, passion fruit, sharon fruit, physalis or lychees. Plenty brussel sprouts, parsnips, carrots and spuds.

The last two Fairy Doors for this year are out, now 8 in total.
Please donate to their charities (Screen Machine and Relationship Scotland) to get an entry and choose your prize. Or you can play the letter game - now an 8 letter word until the prize draw on Boxing Day.
Once you have an entry slip, with a stamp for your donation or the correct word, go and choose your prize. Each Elf and Fairy has put out one prize next to their door, and you can decide which one you'd like to win.

The first elves and fairies to make an appearance at the Skello Shop are the Fisher, the Builder and the Jeweller. Here are the prizes they have put out for you to choose from.
You can either play their word game (3 letters this week to make a word from - get it done while it's still easy!!), or you can donate a coin to their causes and get a coin stamp on your entry slip.

To make sure no-one's disappointed, please order your Xmas meats from Flett's or Donaldson's butchers now at the Skello Shop.
We aim to get it delivered on Monday 23rd December, either for a late pick-up that evening, or to collect the next day.
You can also let us know what fruit & veg you'd like so we order enough of the right stuff for you.
Lists of available meat and trimmings are on the shop counter.

There once was a wee Christmas fairy,

Now advent is no longer scary.
