March has been a busy month of tastings at Brigitte Bordeaux. We celebrated World Book Day and International Women’s Day; put Chile up against Argentina; paired wine with crisps; explored the wines of Dão and hosted four private tastings. If you need inspiration for a Mother’s Day gift, how about a voucher for one of our tasting events? We’ve just released all of our tasting events for May and June so there are plenty to choose from! Vouchers are £35.
Alternatively, we have lots of very nice looking bottles of wine with even nicer tasting wine inside. 😊

NEW TASTING EVENTS 📣
With all of our April tastings now Sold Out, here’s what’s on the calendar so far for May and June.
The Vinho Verde Tasting and Wine and Crisp Pairing are both £32 per person. All other tastings are £35.
Please see our website for more details about each event.

Some fabulous flavour combinations at last night’s Wine and Crisp Pairing Evening.
The star pairing amongst our guests was the Sumo Cat Riesling with Nice ‘n’ Spicy Nik Naks. For me, it was the Wotsits and Manzanilla that stole the show with both the crisp and the wine elevating the other to whole new heights of deliciousness! Every pairing got at least one vote for ‘Best of the Night’ with the Lot 8 Syrah and Frazzles combo proving popular and the Espumanto Bruto Rosé creating a fun, fizzy melt-in-the-mouth partnership with the humble Skip.
The favourite crisp was the Torres Black Truffle crisp whilst the Sumo Cat Riesling took the trophy for favourite wine and at only £10 a bottle (and with a scootering cat on the label), it’s no surprise that it flew off the shelves at the end of the tasting. But don’t worry, it will be back in stock very soon!
And don’t worry if you missed last night; due to popular demand, we will be revisiting the theme with our ‘Wine & Crisp Pairing: Take Two’ on Wednesday 11th June. Tickets are now on sale at £32pp.
The rest of our May and June tastings will be released in store and online in the next day or two. So, check your inbox for our newsletter; keep an eye on our website and social media or pop in to see us. 😊

Thank you to all of our guests and also to my team (Joe and Megan) for fully embracing the theme.
Congratulations to The Hungry Caterpillar for winning the fancy dress contest and good luck to all who entered our World Book Day charity prize draw.

Getting ready for tomorrow’s wine tasting…
If you haven’t got a ticket, don’t fear: we’re running a special prize draw with the chance to win ALL 9 wines that we’re showing at the tasting (worth £260.38) and with proceeds from the draw going to the ‘World Book Day’ charity.
The winner will be drawn when we close on Sunday so you’ve got plenty of time to come down and make sure your name is in there.

NEW EVENT! 📣
All of our March tastings have sold out so we’re pleased to be able to add this exciting new event to our calendar.
On Wednesday 26th March, we will be joined by Marisa from Quinta de Cabriz in Portugal, to guide us through a selection of their fantastic wines.
Many will be familiar with their Brut Sparkling wine which won the Best Value Sparkling Wine Trophy at the a few years ago and is a firm customer favourite at Brigitte Bordeaux. Join us to taste this and other wines that they produce in the exciting Portuguese region of Dão.
We’ll be showing 6 wines at this tasting which is fewer than usual so therefore you can book your tickets for the absolute bargain price of £29pp!
Phone or pop in from when we open tomorrow at 12 to get your tickets.

Great whirlwind whistle-stop wine filled trip to London.
Women in Wine dinner on Monday night at the very lovely with , and ; Austrian masterclass and tasting on Tuesday morning ; followed by tasting and delicious 3 course lunch by at ; quick stop for more tasting and then on to the also-very-lovely .london for a great Austrian wine dinner with and their Austrian winemakers … followed by a very late train back to Nottingham!
Thanks to all of the above for such great hospitality.
Lots of great wines and great food. Lovely to bump into lots of friends and familiar faces and meet many new wine people and discover new wines.
Not a bad way to spend 30 hours!

Meet Hanné!
If you came to the Nottingham Wine Festival or have been to Brigitte Bordeaux recently, you may have already met her.
If you’re coming to our ‘Lesser Known Spain’ tasting tonight, you’ll definitely meet her as she’ll be hosting the tasting!
Hanné moved to Nottingham from South Africa in January to study for a masters at NTU. Before her move to the UK, Hanné studied Oenology and Viticulture at Stellenbosch University (Elsenburg) and worked as assistant winemaker at .
We’re delighted to have her on board at Brigitte Bordeaux and we’ll definitely be putting her extensive wine knowledge to good use. After hosting our Spanish tasting tonight, she’ll certainly be involved in delivering our Female Winemakers Tasting on International Women’s Day…. And watch this space for news on a tasting of her own .🤞
