Villa Parens Pinot Nero

The Italian synonym for the great Pinot Noir varietal, a red wine grape variety of the species Vitis vinifera. The name is derived from the French words for pine and black. The pine alluding to the grape variety having tightly clustered, pine cone-shaped bunches of fruit.

Pinot Noir is also used in some Italian wines like Franciacorta (in North of Italy) for example.

Like Vermentino? Then you will love Fallegro! Come and sample Poderi Gianni Gagliardo’s Fallegro at the Festival of Wine this Saturday at The Balmoral.

Fallegro is the Piemonte version of Vermentino grapes, the only one grown far from the sea in a continental climate which gives lot of character and makes it fresh and fragrant. Ideal as an aperitif and easily served with food.

Fallegro was born in 1974 and is one of the very first wines made from Favorita grapes.

We will be pouring FIVE styles of Poderi Gianni Gagliardo Nebbiolo at the SOLD OUT Festival of Wine at The Balmoral this Saturday.



(Italian), or Nebieul (Piedmontese) is an Italian red wine grape variety predominantly associated with its native region, where it makes the Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita wines of , , , and . Nebbiolo is thought to derive its name from the word nebbia which means "fog." During harvest, which generally takes place late in October, a deep, intense fog sets into the region where many Nebbiolo vineyards are located. Alternative explanations refers to the fog-like milky veil that forms over the berries as they reach maturity, or that perhaps the name is derived instead from the Italian word nobile, meaning . Nebbiolo produces lightly-colored red wines which can be highly tannic in youth with scents of tar and roses. As they age, the wines take on a characteristic brick-orange hue at the rim of the glass and mature to reveal other aromas and flavors such as , , , , , truffles, ***co, and . Nebbiolo wines can require years of aging to balance the with other characteristics.

In the wine cellars of Villa Parens at Farra d ' Isonzo they are completing the process of degorgement of their sublime, award winning sparkling wine, Rosé de Noirs, which is made from Pinot Noir grapes.

After 36 months of ageing on the lees, the process of expulsion of the yeasts has begun to ensure this sparkling wine becomes perfectly clear and clean.

A delicate moment where the technique and innate qualities of the famous "Chef de cave" are what matter, thanks to Enosol and their staff for their careful, precise work and support behind the scenes.
