Morning.

As we head into the quietest weeks and months of the year we thought we’d give a little update on what the pub is going to look like over the winter.

We’re committed to keeping our opening times steady at 11-11. We flirt every year with closing for some of the quiet parts, but (outside of Covid) we’ve never brought ourselves to do it.

It does mean though that there’s some extremely quiet periods and we have to adapt as part of that. So over the coming weeks if there’s slightly less beer, especially cask, on the pumps, it’s a necessity to keep things fresh and turning over.

It’s far better for everyone to have 5 or 6 casks turning over rather than 7 or 8 selling slowly. You’ll see the same great spread of beers across the bar though with a strong local presence as we look to buy local where we can; something that’s especially important at this time of year!

As usual there’ll be GLUTEN FREE options and LOW/NO options on tap and in the fridge with and on duty at the minute.

Our coffee machine will be working overtime this month serving delicious Coffee served with Northumbrian and non dairy alternatives, alongside a great selection of Teas.

Our weekly Pizza and Quiz Nights will continue through the winter months with braving the cold every Wednesday from 5pm and the quiz starting at 9pm.

We’re so grateful that Scream commit to their weekly pop up every winter when they could just take it easy and not take the risk on the quiet months.
Our Pizza and Drink deal will be active as always with No and Low options as part of the deal each week.

On Saturdays we have on sandwich duties too with their incredible scratch made subs delivered fresh to your table from 1-5pm.

We’ve some great events pencilled in for you too with two already announced…
On Friday 19.01 we’re helping celebrate their 6th Birthday with some incredible collab beers, and we’re excited to be a stop on the Lambic Trail over 27/28 January. Eyes peeled for more lovely events coming up through the winter.

DON’T FORGET ABOUT BRINKBURN.

With all the confusion we just want to assure our customers, old and new, that we are still here and open for business!

We are a one of a kind business down here on Ford St. and we have survived the past two lockdowns as;

A BAR; our draught beers are readily available to pre order for collection in our signature milk cartons, growlers and bag-in-boxes.

A RESTAURANT; Our burgers and Sunday roasts are famous around here and haven’t gone anywhere. We’re on deliveroo and click and collect through our website 7 days a week.

A MICRO BREWERY; Our bottles, cans, merchandise and gift packs are all such amazing Christmas presents and we’re really proud of our new online shop. Our 12 beers of Christmas gift box and gift packs have been flying out and we’re so grateful!

Lockdowns almost over but not quite yet, so don’t forget to keep shopping local and supporting small businesses like us during this final stretch.
