The event is a fundraising event for the Much Marcle Community Shop and will encompass a Fete and Dog show with a Crufts judge. Any and all help appreciated, please let us know your skill set. A great family day and all for a great cause.

Do you feel lucky?

It's only £36 for 12 months and there's 36 chances to win. On Saturday the first prize will be £55, second will be £30 and third £20.

We've been mentioned in parliament!
Last year we applied for a grant from the Community Ownership Fund which with shareholders funds would have covered everything we need to build the community shop, Post Office and cafe in Much Marcle. When the election was called the fund was put on hold. Now the new Government has cancelled the fund altogether.
Our local MP Ellie Chowns has recently put down a question in parliament about the shop and other projects that now have no prospect of Government funding.
The good news is that we now have the help of a dedicated grant officer from Herefordshire Council, and hope to get a positive reaction from grant funding bodies soon.
In the meantime watch this space for news of fundraising events.

Happy new year from the steering group and fundraising committee who are all working towards building the Community Shop Post Office and Cafe.

Thank you to everyone who came to make a Christmas wreath yesterday. Our wonderful florists helped each one of you to make a beautiful wreath.
Thanks also to Gillian for serving the refreshments and Shirley and Linda for making delicious cakes.
All the foliage was generously donated by gardeners in the village.
The wreath makers also bought jam, marmalade, chutneys and daffodils, which almost made up for the Produce Market being cancelled due to storm Darragh.
Amazing what we can do when we work together….like getting a shop up and running.

Because it's Christmas prizes in the 200 Club draw are double the usual amounts in December! £90 for the first prize, £50 second prize and £30 third prize. But you've got to be in it to win it!
The more members of the club, the bigger the prizes. If YOU join it you will be helping to fund the community shop, Post Office and cafe in Much Marcle, with 36 chances of winning a prize in a year. The next draw is on 7th December at Hellens Produce Market where we will also be selling Much Marcle honey, home made preserves, Skittery Apple Juice and ready potted paperwhite narcissi to bring some winter cheer to your home.

Come and try your hand at archery during the The Big Apple celebrations next weekend.
We’ll be on the Bartons, opposite the Hall where teas are served (venue 5), from 11am till 4pm on Saturday 12th.
You’ll get expert guidance and it’s great value - only £2 for 4 arrows!

More good news! As we now have more than 100 people signed up to our 200 Club we are going to start the monthly draws. Come along to Hellens Produce Market on Saturday morning to find out if you are a winner!

We’re delighted to tell you that we have finally got planning permission to build the new community shop, Post Office and cafe. There are several conditions but nothing we can’t cope with.
The next stage is to obtain more funding. We are already researching our options and will let you know as soon as progress is made.

Anyone that came to the afternoon tea last Saturday got an idea of what it would be like to have a cafe in the village. They all enjoyed the delicious food and the chance to mingle and chat with friends, neighbours and visitors.
They were served dainty sandwiches, scones with jam and cream followed by cakes, all on vintage china.
First prize in the raffle was a watercolour of the church, won by Janey. Other prizes included bubbly, flowers, chocolates, toiletries and a range of teas.
Thank you to everyone that donated a home made cake, and to all our generous suppliers. Thanks also to our MC Jim and the hard working shop fundraising committee who made it all happen.
£531 profit has been added to the funds to build a community shop, Post Office and cafe in Much Marcle.
