Christmas raffle tickets will be on sale from tomorrow. Lots of super prizes to be won including a ‘warm hug’ blanket and lots of lovely drinks 🍷🍾 The raffle will be drawn on 22nd December. Tickets are £1 each or 6 for £5.00.

Thank you to those who offered suggestions as to how we can improve our service in the village shop. We are pleased to say it has resulted in us now providing wonderfully tasty vegetable samosas, either cooked and ready to take away, or to be ordered frozen for you to cook at home. So far they have been selling very well.

Unfortunately we are not able to respond to requests to increase the shop opening hours at the moment. We cannot afford the extra staff costs but even more importantly we do not have enough volunteers to keep the shop open for longer hours. We are always keen to find more volunteers so if you can help or want to know more about what it entails please ask at the shop! A committee member will be happy to arrange to meet with you to discuss the kinds of volunteering we need. We look forward to your further support. 😊

Our Story

We are a community owned store and cafe which is mostly run by volunteers, along with a small number of paid staff.

The store re-opened in 2011 after it had been closed for around five years, backed by more than 180 shareholders (including individual villagers, parish councils, the village copyholders, sports clubs and other community groups and local businesses) who invested more than £11,000 in the venture. Grants were also received from North Northamptonshire Leader, Awards for All and the Plunkett Foundation.
