Remember to order your sourdough bread by Wednesday 🍞 😊

September is Sourdough month. You can order Wednesday for delivery Friday! 😊

Sourdough bread isn’t made with commercial yeast but with a live fermented culture of flour and water (also called sourdough starter or wild yeast) to help the dough rise. This makes it one of the healthiest breads as the long fermentation helps break down gluten and it becomes more digestible and you feel much lighter. Plus it tastes so good!

Pre order Wednesday any week for fresh delivery Friday from our very own local Mrs Sourdough! £4.50 for 600g and £5.50 for 800g.

We have an Refill Station for all your staples, from pasta to eco washing up liquid.

It's simple:

1️⃣ Pop in to the store with an empty bottle (need one? we have a few spares)

2️⃣ Fill up your container (we're happy to help you, just ask our friendly staff)

3️⃣ Pick up a brown bag and fill with nuts, fruit, pasta/rice, chickpeas, popcorn

4️⃣ Take it to the till

5️⃣ Leave the store with a spring in your step, knowing you've saved the planet from one more plastic item 🌏

🎾 Hand up, who else is glued to Wimbledon?

Did you know that Wimbledon strawberries all come from Kent? 🍓

Each year more than 38.4 tons of strawberries (1.92 million strawberries to be precise) and 445kg of raspberries are picked and consumed during the tournament.

That’s more than 140,000 punnets!

Pop in for your strawberries and cream. They are local (naturally) because if they're good enough for Wimbledon...

As if you needed proof that Kent strawberries are the best.

You may be aware that our wonderful volunteer, Shirley, sadly passed away in May.

Shirley volunteered in the store every Sunday, and also served as Secretary to the Store Committee and our Board since the very beginning. She was an integral part of our store and local community, and will be sadly missed by us all.

Shirley’s funeral is being held on Monday 12th June, and we will be closing the store at 2pm as a mark of respect.
