Had a fantastic tasting with and been a huge fan of these wines for years and had forgotten how good they are!

The Pinot Grigio is just ridiculously good, the Chardonnay is crisp, fresh and minerally. The Terlaner is what they are famous for and doesn't disappoint, then you get to the Winkl Sauvignon Blanc which is pronounced and fruit driven with a stunning acidity and minerality to back it up. Then finally on the whites the Quartz Sauvignon Blanc, has to be one of my all time favourite wines, restrained, elegant but with so much depth of flavour and character.

We also tasted the Lagrein Rose which is a great counterpoint to the crisp and flavourless Provence Rosé and also from Lagrein the Greis Riserva which had this lovely crunchy blueberry fruit and hints of cocoa and coffee coming through, nice fine grippy tannins balanced out this wine perfectly.

Some of their range will be arriving in-store soon, but all is available to order.

So, first tasting of the day and found three new wines for the shop! All from Friuli in northern Italy, a stunning Sauvignon, an absolutely delicious Malvasia which they've managed to maintain the acidity, and a variety I've never heard of, Vitovska which was my favourite. Beautiful fruit with an amazing minerality and salinity to it. Definitely gonna be a regular in our household!
