We’ve recently renewed the Untappd subscription at the shop for the 7th time and we have close to 21k beer & cider checkins at the shop.
That is a lot of beer when you think about it. We couldn’t have done it without your support that’s for sure.
Don’t forget to check in your beers to help us get them check-in numbers up.

What days is it?
We are at stage now in December between Christmas and the New Year!
Thank you to everyone that made an effort to stop by the shop in the last week to top up on beers.
Hopefully the beers went down well and you’ve enjoyed your Christmas time with family and friends.
If you need a top up we are still open for the next 5 days and we got plenty of beers in stock enough for another Christmas. But If you’re already thinking of dry January we got plenty of them beers to tick off that box.

STOCK CLEAROUT
Hey Folks!
As we are looking to be closed in the new year for refurb works. We are offering what we believe are some generous discounts on the takeaway beers which we hope will work well for everyone. This way we hope to have none or very little beer left in the shop to move around before we start the works.

A month to go and we want to be ready with the cold beers so keep reading.

SHOP CLOSURE
This will be temporarily in 2025 in January, maybe February & throughout the year as we are looking to do some refurb works and switch off to recharge physically but more important mentally.

STOCK CLEAR OUT

As SALE season starts with BLACK FRIDAY we would like to remind you of our in shop offer for takeaway on bottles and cans which has been upgraded to even better discounts

We got a big selection this year in the Christmas / Winter beer section with new breweries from Germany / Denmark & Norway but also a return of the classic Belgian Christmas beers we also got some UK & US breweries that have released some delicious imperial strength beers.
Some have already sold out so don’t sleep on this one get involved early as they’re in short supply they will not be available until next year.

As we are looking to have a stock clear out certain lines we will not be topping up this year. So please buy the specials early as we will look at keeping just some core beers closer to the end of the year.

REFURB WORKS

The big refurb works that didn’t happen early this year due to insufficient funds. We did had our electrics, the shutter and intruder alarm sorted. Which cost quite a bit and also some shelving for storage.
So certain things got done.

With the refurb works we hope that we can make things a bit more practical for us but also for our customers for drink in and also takeaway.

So with that said this coming year we want to go ahead and get things sorted even if it means being closed for longer in order to get things done.

We got loads of plans for the shop,
we hope 2025 will be the year we can deliver all or most of them.

OKTOBERFEST

Hands down our favourite time of the year for beer. Millions will gather in Munich Germany for what is the biggest festival in the world and probably the most beer consumption in a time period. Also enjoyed around the world in smaller scales. Like at the shop it will be our 6th Oktoberfest and as always we source the best Festbiers & Märzen lagers.
A big thank you to & our top suppliers for all things German beers.

BELGIUM BEER WEEK 🇧🇪
This year we’re kicking things off with a keg of Tynt Meadow Brown English Trappist Ale.
No doubt you had it in bottles by now but if this is a new beer to you, we invite you to stop by and enjoy a glass or two or more do this delicious Trappist Ale.

Brewery Notes

Trappist beers tend to be named after the place in which the monastery is situated. We’ve called ours ‘Tynt Meadow’, to honour the link with the plot of land on which monastic life was refounded here in the Midlands almost two centuries ago. Being part of the great Trappist tradition, we’ve chosen to produce a strong dark ale, but one with a clearly English character.

Tynt Meadow is mahogany-coloured, with a subtle, warm red hue, and a lasting beige head. Its aroma carries hints of dark chocolate, liquorice, and rich fruit flavours. The beer is full-bodied, gently balancing the taste of dark chocolate, pepper, and fig. It leaves a warm and dry finish on the palate.

📢 New beer alert 🚨
Running Beer

Brewery Notes

Running Beer is the first beer we designed for Mills Brewing. It is the purest distillation of how we make beer.

This beer is a blend of equal parts four, three, and two year old spontaneously fermented beers. They fermented and matured in a mixture of French and American oak barrels, previously used by Bourbon whiskey and Burgundy white wine producers. The beer then conditioned for five months in bottle before release.

At the point of blending, our aim is to make the body relatively full for the ABV. This is aided by the inclusion of large quantities of rye grains in most of the brews we use in Running Beer. We also like to include a proportion of beer from American oak barrels, to lend a creamy character to the aroma and mouthfeel.

We aim towards a similar flavour profile for Running Beer each time, however we still have no set recipe. The grains and hops are varied for each brew. A variety of worts are produced using traditional turbid mash methods and aged hops, before spontaneous fermentation in different types of barrel. We welcome the natural variation given by the wild fermentation.
