Hands down our favourite time of the year for beer. Millions will gather in Munich Germany for what is the biggest festival in the world and probably the most beer consumption in a time period. Also enjoyed around the world in smaller scales. Like at the shop it will be our 6th Oktoberfest and as always we source the best Festbiers & Märzen lagers.

BELGIUM BEER WEEK 🇧🇪
This year we’re kicking things off with a keg of Tynt Meadow Brown English Trappist Ale.
No doubt you had it in bottles by now but if this is a new beer to you, we invite you to stop by and enjoy a glass or two or more do this delicious Trappist Ale.

Brewery Notes

Trappist beers tend to be named after the place in which the monastery is situated. We’ve called ours ‘Tynt Meadow’, to honour the link with the plot of land on which monastic life was refounded here in the Midlands almost two centuries ago. Being part of the great Trappist tradition, we’ve chosen to produce a strong dark ale, but one with a clearly English character.

Tynt Meadow is mahogany-coloured, with a subtle, warm red hue, and a lasting beige head. Its aroma carries hints of dark chocolate, liquorice, and rich fruit flavours. The beer is full-bodied, gently balancing the taste of dark chocolate, pepper, and fig. It leaves a warm and dry finish on the palate.

📢 New beer alert 🚨
Running Beer

Brewery Notes

Running Beer is the first beer we designed for Mills Brewing. It is the purest distillation of how we make beer.

This beer is a blend of equal parts four, three, and two year old spontaneously fermented beers. They fermented and matured in a mixture of French and American oak barrels, previously used by Bourbon whiskey and Burgundy white wine producers. The beer then conditioned for five months in bottle before release.

At the point of blending, our aim is to make the body relatively full for the ABV. This is aided by the inclusion of large quantities of rye grains in most of the brews we use in Running Beer. We also like to include a proportion of beer from American oak barrels, to lend a creamy character to the aroma and mouthfeel.

We aim towards a similar flavour profile for Running Beer each time, however we still have no set recipe. The grains and hops are varied for each brew. A variety of worts are produced using traditional turbid mash methods and aged hops, before spontaneous fermentation in different types of barrel. We welcome the natural variation given by the wild fermentation.

CANDLE our 5th Birthday collab beer
with
We visited the brewery last month to see where all the magic is happening and see the beer taking form.

A New Zealand Pale Ale hopped with some of our favourite NZ hops Motueka Nelson Rakau.

The amazing artwork has been designed by

The brewing team have done a great job on the beer as we finished 2 kegs on the first day which is an achievement for us as we’ve never had 2 kegs finished on the day back to back.

If you couldn’t make it yesterday we still have 2 kegs in stock with another 4 at the brewery plus we have around 50 cans in stock with the remaining 100 cans at the brewery.

The support has been brilliant by everyone that came by and we are grateful for that!

5th BEERTHDAY!
That came around quick.
Thank you family, friends, beer enthusiasts, local community regular customers, brewery friends, drinks & snack suppliers & anyone that we might missed out.
You all have helped in some way to get us this far. A collective effort to enjoy some of the best beers the craft beer industry has to offer!

ST PATRICKS DARK ALE WEEK
One of our favourite times of the year!
St. Patrick’s Day! Observed every March 17th, is packed with parades, good luck charms, and all things green. The event started as a religious holiday, but over time it’s become a celebration of Irish culture.
