Sweater weather is well on its way and with it, it's bundle of Autumn treats and celebrations. Forget Halloween and spooky season (for now!), what we are truly excited about at Made In Little France is a celebration like no other, and it starts right in the heart of the Beaujolais.

Now coming to the end of one of the warmest vendanges on record all over France; winegrowers and wine houses are turning to the production stage after the excitement of seeing the grapes harvested. With vines giving full, juicy and crunchy grapes that reached perfect maturity, 2024 has all the makings of a great vintage for Beaujolais.

The Gamay based first wine of the season will soon leave its cradle and make its way to the bistros of Paris and beyond. What started as a race from the countryside to the capital is now a worldwide fête of French culture.Light, fruity, juicy, and with its characteristic touch of candied red berries, Beaujolais Nouveau is to be enjoyed on its own or with a nice charcuterie board, as long as you’re in good company!

We plan to organise a big party on the day in our Stoke Newington shop and also some informal wine tastings in our other locations.

Wine of the week!

“Piccolino” is a 100% Mourvèdre, a juicy style with the right amont of tannins and spices 👌. The grapes are from a low yielded vineyard with stony soil, surrounded by garrigues, dry poor soil which results by concentrating the flavours in the grapes and so in the wine. A great example of a Vin de Pays d’oc, in the Languedoc region.

We’re excited to have the Stella Nova range back in our shop! Philippe Richy, one of our favorite natural winemakers, has been crafting exceptional wines that reflect the true spirit of Languedoc.

Philippe started his journey in 2002 when he bought his first vines in Caux, and since then, he’s built a reputation for creating beautiful natural wines. His first sulfite-free cuvée, Polaris, came out in 2006, and he’s been certified organicsince 2009 and biodynamic since 2018. 🌿🍇

With around 10 hectares of vines and a diverse array of terroirs and grape varieties, Stella Nova wines are truly one-of-a-kind. They offer pure fruit aromas, low tannins, and are incredibly juicy and easy-drinking—perfect for any occasion!
