🙋‍♂️ What is this Crystal Palace?

👉 This Saturday 30th November between 2-6pm.

🍷 A free Slovakian wine tasting hosted by our friends from The Naughty Grape, Darren and Lucia.

👌 What will you learn from the tasting?

👉 About Slovakia as a country.

👉 The Tokaj wine region, its rich wine-making heritage and the unique terroir that produces such distinct flavours.

👉 To demystify that the region is only about sweet wines.
Their carefully curated range of wines will showcase the versatility of The Tokaj grapes - furmint, lipovina and yellow muscat.

👏 That is not all - all the wines featured on the day will have an additional 10% off.

❓Who are The Naughty Grape?

🍇 The Naughty Grape was founded by Darren & Lucia, who decided to bridge the gap between Slovak winemakers and UK wine enthusiasts, and make the Slovak Tokaj region better known in the UK.

💨 Happy Sunday everyone.

🙏 Thank you to everyone who came to our Beaujolais Nouveau tasting on Thursday just gone at Urban Cellar.

👏 Both of the Nouveau and Crus were well received.

👉 As always as in past years, we buy a little bit extra as they are so delicious and people always want more.

🍷 They don’t tend to hang around for long though so grab them whilst you can.

🎉👏👌 THIS YEAR’S FREE BEAUJOLAIS NOUVEAU 2024 TASTING IS (ALMOST) HERE - 21ST NOVEMBER

🍷 This year we will have two Beaujolais Nouveau on sale BUT also, a Côte de Brouilly, a Régnié and a Moulin-à-Vent . Harvests have been challenging and therefore reduced this year.

👉 As per last year, we are respecting the tradition and our producers wishes by putting them on sale on the third Thursday of the month of November.

👏 That’s ok though, because......

👌 We will be opening earlier at 2.30pm and closing later at 9.30pm so you can all come and try all of them and relax, hopefully without any time pressures.

👉 All wines will be open to come and try for free this Thursday 21st November. Plus you can buy by the glass as well on the day.

Hand picked and sorted fruit with fermentation in small vessels, moderate extraction ensuring vineyard characteristics are fully expressed. Then aged in new and one year old oak for 6-8 months. Aromas of dark berries and spice with a palate of fine, silky tannins and fruit flavours of blueberry and dark cherry. Great with grilled and roasted meat, pizza, pasta casseroles and mature, strong cheeses.

👋 Good morning Crystal Palace.

🍷This weekend at Urban Cellar we have tow absolute bangers (if I do say so myself) will be open to try for free, this weekend, PLUS, we are passing on the £££ discount our supplier has given us. These are great Autumnal wines.

🍷 Ontañón Rioja Blanco, DOCa Rioja. Opulent aromas of pear and jasmine, with tropical notes and well-integrated but subtle oak. The palate is poised with vanilla oak characters, but left fresh by balancing acidity. Flavours of pineapple, crisp lemon, and brioche notes on the finish. Match with roast chicken, seafood and creamy pasta dishes.

Was £13.95. Now £12.25.

🍷 Barão da Várzea do Douro, Reserva Tinto, DOC Douro. Complex aromas of red berry, bramble fruit, sweet vanilla and toasty oak. The palate has blackberry and plum notes balanced by some savoury characters, bright acidity, a hint of pepper and ripe tannins. Pair with roast meats or a nut roast.
