Mas Amiel has built a reputation as an exceptional estate, where generations have created captivating wines that express the full potential of the terroir.

Mas Amiel is distinguished by its great sweet wines; refined and floral in style, these wines pay homage to the typicity of local varieties. There is a memorable, iconic fleshiness and minerality to these wines. The range reflects the terroir, the terroir is imprinted on the range.

The estate is recognised by ‘Le Parc à Bonbonnes’; the 60 litre glass bottles carefully positioned across on the estate’s beautiful land. The wine spends a year in bottles, exposed to the open air and climatic variations so that they can evolve to have concentration and complexity. Following this time under the sun and stars, the wines are transferred to the cellar where they are further aged in large oak barrels, standing 10 meters high. The ageing process will continue until the wines are deemed ready. These wines consistently receive excellent critics scores. DM us for details on our pre-shipment offer!

and will be joining us at today!

Marta Ramas and Miguel Angel Alonso are responsible for both properties. They are immensely talented and their wines are oozing with age-worthy complexity and elegance.

Fuentes del Silencio grows native varieties in very carefully dictated plots. With pre-phylloxera vines, this small team is working to bring the essence of the territory back to life and ensure that each of their small plots reaches their highest potential, while implementing environmentally-friendly winemaking practices and placing importance on the use of traditional methods.

Bodega Valdaya only makes two wines, for which the fruit comes from a selection of 100% Tempranillo grown on old bush vines vinified in separate parcels using indigenous yeasts. Maceration continues for 28 days in barrel before the free-run wine of each parcel passes into a selection of new barrels according to their potential for ageing - 90% French oak, 10% Hungarian oak, 6 different coopers.

Check your inbox for details about Clos du Caillou’s 2022 vintage! Clos du Caillou is producing some of the finest wines in the whole of the Rhône valley. Le Clos du Caillou benefits from an exceptional terroir which varies from sandy soils to the famous `galets roulés`. The estate has been practicing biodynamic viticulture since 2003 and was certified organic in 2010. Remarkably the original property was excluded from the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation in the 1930s as the owners refused to allow their land to be surveyed. As a result, the vines inside the Clos were classified as Côtes-du-Rhône Villages though the terroir is identical to the adjacent vineyards in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The wines continue to impress year on year as they continue to make exceptionally well-balanced wines with their signature, velvety tannins.

🍷The 2019 Anaparenna by Ben Glaetzer (Glaetzer Wines) is a seamless fusion of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Voluptuous, opulent and yet refined, with a very long and satisfying finish. The name, Anaperenna, has been inspired by Anna Perenna, the Roman goddess of the New Year. She symbolises the year's cycle and her name translates as 'enduring year'. Romans honoured Anna Perenna with a festival held on the first full moon of the Roman calendar.

🍃2019 was a warm, dry vintage in the Barossa Valley which, as Ben explains, suits their vineyards. The vintage stands out for high quality reds with notable focus; layers of concentrated fruit are matched to savoury, polished tannins and freshness on the finish. '2019 produced wines which will cellar beautifully for many years', comments Ben, adding, 'but more importantly they are very approachable and very generous when they are young. They show a true snapshot of the Ebenezer and the Barossa Valley vintage.'

🍷 We are thrilled to welcome Makarounas Winery to the UK and continue expanding our Hellenic portfolio! You may have had the pleasure of trying these wines recently if you joined us for our Autumn Tasting earlier this month.

🍇 Makarounas Winery is a family winery located in the beautiful village of Letymbou, a region with a long tradition of vine growing. Letymbou is located 14 kilometres east of the city of Pafos, on the west coast of Cyprus, and the Makarounas family have a viticultural history dating back four generations in the region.

🇨🇾 Theodoros Makarounas started the winery in 2016 after completing his studies in Oenology and Viticulture at UC Davis. He strongly embraced the belief that good wine is made in the vineyard; thus, particular attention is paid to the notion of terroir.

🗻 The vineyards cover 25 hectares of land, with new plantings added every year. They are located at an altitude of 400 - 600 metres above sea level. There is a strong Mediterranean influence here, as well as considerable rainfall. The combination of surrounding hills, the crystal gypsum, limestone and quartz rich soils, along with the uninterrupted exposure to the winds of the valley, are moderating factors in the local mesoclimate. Makarounas Winery is the only winery in Cyprus that sources grapes solely from its privately-owned vineyards. The family has a long tradition in viticulture and to this day still provide fruit to a considerable number of wineries around Cyprus. The quality of the fruit and production is overseen by Theodoros and he produces terroir driven, distinctive, and top-quality wines.

🍃 The winery produces wines of ample power but with excellent drinkability, with a focus on indigenous grape varieties of Cyprus and organic viticulture.

✨As the weather turns, so do our palates, and we tend to reach for a warming glass of Sherry.

🥃 The Lustau Oloroso Don Nuño Dry Solera Familiar is just the ticket for cool autumn evenings - aged following an oxidative ageing for 12 years in Bodega La Campana in Jerez de la Frontera. Dark bronze colour with golden rim. Pungent nutty aromas with a smoky wood background. Rich flavours of bitter chocolate, walnuts and baked chestnuts.

Our team had the pleasure of meeting winemaker Albert Ahrens this morning for a tasting and deep dive into South African winemaking.

🇿🇦 Based near Paarl, Albert combined his love of travel and wine by starting his career in the Rhone Valley, Champagne and Priorat. Taking this experience back to South Africa determined to champion wine that displays its origins with a purity and focus. He passionately describes his wines as ‘having an address’ or a ‘postcard’; wines that capture time, a place and a moment.

🍷 He embraces vintage change and intends for each of his wines to have their own unique identity, with wines from select plots across the Western Cape including Swartland, Voor-Paardeberg, Stellenbosch, Paarl and Wellington.

We will be showing a selection of The Ahrens Family Wines at our Autumn Tasting next Tuesday, register via the link in our bio.

🌟 We are thrilled to welcome Marlborough's Zephyr Wines to the Bancroft Wines portfolio! 🌟

🇳🇿 Zephyr Wines are sourced from the 35-hectare, fourth-generation family farm situated in the sought-after Dillon’s Point region of Marlborough’s Wairau Valley, made by talented winemaker Ben Glover.

🍇 The name Zephyr, meaning ‘a gentle breeze’, is inspired by the prevailing wind that moderates the coastal family vineyard and the Marlborough region. Planted in 1985 alongside Marlborough’s Ōpaoa River, rows of Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Sauvignon Blanc thrive in fertile loam soils that provide Zephyr wines with lively single vineyard expression – elegant aromatics, poised depth of flavour, and excellent structural longevity.

🍃 10 years after launching Zephyr, Ben and his wife Susie transitioned 21 hectares of the family vineyard to organic farming practices. By carrying the Bio-Gro certified organic logo they are continuing Zephyr’s journey to express the true flavours of the family farm, while emphasising on wine growing through soil health, biodiversity, regenerative farming, and, ultimately, mindful consumption. Never still, always on the go, always innovating and planning their next move on the farm, and always with family.

👇If you haven't tried Zephyr Wines yet, don't miss the opportunity to try these wines at our Autumn Tasting on Tuesday 3rd October. Link in bio to register.

✨A warm Bancroft welcome to Château Saint-Maur! ✨

🍇 A few kilometres from Saint-Tropez, Saint-Maur is one of only eighteen estates that have been awarded Cru Classé status in the region. Warm summer days, moderated by cooling breezes from the nearby coast and mountains and an excellent terroir, are ideal for producing elegant Provencal rosés and white wines.

🍷 We are proud to be showing the M by Saint-Maur Blanc and Rosé, their flagship L'Excellence Rosé and the Clos de Capelune Blanc and Rosé at our Autumn Tasting at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London on 3rd October.

🍇 We are thrilled to welcome the esteemed Cape Mentelle to the Bancroft Wines Australian portfolio!

🇦🇺 Cape Mentelle was one of the original five wineries founded in Western Australia’s Margaret River in 1970 by David Hohnen. They are recognised not only for their commitment to quality, but for their adherence to organic viticulture and sustainable practices. The winery takes its name from the nearby Cape, named by the French ‘Baudin Expedition’, which charted the coast of Western Australia in 1801.

🍷 In the early years, the focus was very much on red wine production. Many of these original plantings have come to characterise the Cape Mentelle house style. Their flagship Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced primarily from the original Wallcliffe Vineyard, is now widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading Cabernets. Today, winemaking is overseen by Senior Winemaker Eloise Jarvis.
