We wanted to introduce the person behind Blanco & Gomez wine merchants - Mr Carlos Blanco

Co-founder of Blanco & Gomez Wine Merchants in London and Blanco & Lynds Fine wines in both, Hong Kong and London, Carlos is in the search of the perfect wine that a Terroirs can offer.

With over 22 years in the wine industry, nowadays Carlos is the Managing Director of Blanco & Lynds Fine Wines and an Associate Director of Blanco & Gomez Wine Merchants with a flagship store located in Chelsea, which has a comprehensive range of fine wines, champagne and spirits from all over the world. Carlos is the main wine buyer of the company that deals with Europeans and South American winemakers, along with a comprehensive range of wine distributors and wine brokers within the UK. Also he is one of the key lecturers and hosts for Blanco & Gomez food and wine tastings, specialising in Bordeaux, Burgundy and Super Tuscan wines, but equally happy to indulge his more recherché interests, including Spain and New World’s emerging fine wines.

Even though Carlos has a University degree in Chemical Engineering, he has focus in the Wine and Spirit Industry, holding with merit an Advance Certificate from WSET (Wine and Spirits Education Trust). Mr Blanco is currently preparing himself to be a student of MW (Master of Wine), which is recognised as the foremost title in the world of wine, with only 498 people currently holding the title around the world.

Mr Blanco is a wine consultant for several London institutions and Michelin Started restaurants to advice on the purchase and selection of its wines.

Most recently Mr Blanco has been knighted as a Chevalier du Tastevin by la Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin.
