Dare we say it, but it feels like summer.

Cusumano Alta Mora Guardiola Etna Rosso has a bouquet with aromas of ripe fruit, enriched by pleasant spicy notes of aromatic herbs. Bright acidity & ultra fine tannins, delicious with a bowl of spaghetti & homemade spicy tomato sauce 🍝

This is the first wine from the Brothers Cusumano new vineyard on the slopes of Mount Etna 🌋

The special terroir here has lots of minerals in the soil, which along with the climate, makes the wines of Etna totally unique.

✔️ Medium to full bodied the palate possesses a generous almost juicy like flavour profile of ripe dark cherries & dark plum with some leathery overtones & a spicy back palate 🍒

FRIDAY PROFILE ON San Giorgio Umbria IGT Rosso

👉 TASTING NOTES: A wine with ample, solid structure & very intense ruby red with garnet reflections. The initial flavour is concentrated, dense & fleshy with mature tannins that envelop the mouth with a long-lasting finish.

👉 GRAPES: Cabernet Sauvignon & Sangiovese from hillside vineyards; double spurred cordon pruning system, harvested in crates in September-October

👉 VINIFICATION: Fermented in stainless steel with skin maceration. It then spends 12 months in barrique & over 1 year in the bottle.

👉 FOOD PAIRING: A perfect match with roasted red meat, game & venison as well as sharp cheeses. Best served between 16-18 °C (61-64°F) in a large stem glass

The difference between ‘Gavi di Gavi’ and ‘Gavi Dei Gavi’?

‘Gavi di Gavi’ doesn’t mean anything if you don’t use the whole name of: "Gavi DOCG of the Municipality of Gavi", the grapes must also come from vineyards located in the Municipality of Gavi and use Cortese grapes.

Our friends La Scolca have their infamous Gavi "Black Label", but this Gavi “dei” Gavi "Black Label" is actually a registered trademark since 1969 & refers only to their wine 🫶
