Welsh, skin contact orange wine - that’s a phrase you don’t hear very often !
Orange wine is very hard to track down & never hangs around for long.
Made with predominantly Albariño grapes grown on the Ancre Hill Estates in the Welsh county of Monmouthshire.
The grapes underwent 100% whole bunch maceration for between 30 to 50 days. Fermentation was finished in oak and stainless steel for aging on lees for a minimum of 10 months.
The twelve hectares of vineyards are perfectly positioned on South facing slopes close to the border of Monmouth and the Wye Valley. The estate utilises traditional biodynamic and organic viticultural practices.
Deep, savoury with nectarine & tangerine along with lifted herbal notes.

The Kernel brewery was founded in 2009 by Evin O’Riordain in Bermondsey, SE London. At the time it was one of London’s first craft brewers. Evin had previously been a cheese monger and had scene the craft beer scene taking off while on visits to the US.
The brewery’s ethos strongly favours quality over quantity, with quality control at the heart of the operation. Around 90% of the beer produces is sold in London.
We still have some spaces available for our tasting next Tuesday 5th March at 7pm with a £5 deposit.

have had a very interesting journey with Danny starting off as a journalist and brewing beer nomadically. He would visit different breweries and brew a very small batch of excellent beer.
They have grown significantly over the past few years and now have their own brewery in Lewes.
They are now making some of the best craft beer in the UK so why don’t you come down & try some of them ? Bring some mates & support your local beer shop 👍🏻

🚨Re-launch of book club🚨
Pre-COVID we used to have a lovely book that met on the last Sunday of the month. The last book that was read was Normal People by and look what happened to that !
So after speaking with a few customers we’ve decided to start it up again 😁
We’ve decided on The Offing by Benjamin Myers for the first book.

Dry January doesn’t mean you can’t drink good beer 🍺
Fresh alcohol free IPA is *almost* like the real thing; great mouthfeel, none of that watery nothingness that some other AF beers can taste of.

A belated Happy New Year from the team (well Me & Will!) !
As we approach our seventh birthday in March 24, 2023 was certainly the most challenging year yet.
Post COVID no-one seemed whether to go out on a Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday but we have certainly seen a huge downturn in footfall on Saturday nights. Interest rates, cost of living crisis, energy price increases have all contributed too.

More poignantly we lost a couple of very important people close to the family, primarily my beloved Mum who lived to the grand old age of 96 and died in March.
We also lost life long customer .wrotchford who featured in . The first photo with the orange flags shows a cake sale we held last year to celebrate our sixth birthday with the proceedings going to .

So with all of that behind us we are heading into 2024 with renewed vigour. We will be re-launching our book club soon along with our ‘Gaming Sunday’ held on the last Sunday of the month which we previously held pre-pandemic. Also hopefully lots more tastings & events including wine as well as beer.
As ever, we couldn’t do it without the support of our amazing, loyal customers who we thank from the bottom of our heart.
If you are considering getting a £9/£10 bottle of plonk in the supermarket, why don’t you try shopping local, grabbing a bottle from us for £1 or £2 more and we can guarantee you will see the difference.
