Back in London again and our team have been tasting more delicious wines from all around the world 🌎

We've been surprised by some delicious yet delicate reds from Portugal and stunning bold whites from South Africa!

🔥 Burns Night Wine Pairing Ideas 🔥

If you're celebrating Burns night this weekend with some haggis, neeps and tatties or Scottish beef then here's a few wine ideas that would pair nicely...

🍷 Cabernet Franc - this juicy French grape makes some incredibly complex varietal wines with notes of forest fruits and green pepper that would compliment the savoury, spicy notes in haggis

🍷Shiraz - Also known as 'Syrah' in France, this grape variety is famous for having a spicy notes and a medium-full body that will enhance the spicy notes in the haggis and tannins that can cut through fatty meat

🍷Primitivo - A top seller in our shop and an incredibly versatile grape variety! A burst of ripe red berries and super smooth tannins make this variety a winner for most hearty dinners

🍷Carmenere - A juicy French varietal that has now been very much adopted by Chile. Once thought to be Merlot, this grape is full of plummy notes and famous for its bell pepper and paprika flavours...Perfect with earthy, peppery dishes!

If you've been to any of our wine tastings at Krantz, then you may be familiar with Tracy's famous chocolate brownie...

We usually bring this out when we get to the big reds towards the end of the night and it always goes down a treat. 🍫

Pairing chocolate and wine can be controversial since sugar isn't always the best wine friend, however, some pairings can be a match made in heaven 😍

Anti-Dry January 😆

We love wine ❤️

Just look at the way we look at that bottle of Ripa Delle More from Tuscany 😂

That's just one of the reasons why we're practicing Anti-Dry January, but here's a few more:

- January is cold, wet and dull enough as it is! Wine is warming, delicious and a relaxing treat that is well needed throughout January.

- There are 200 different styles of wine, 1,368 different grape varieties and more bottles of wine in the world than we'll ever get to taste...There's no time to waste!

- Think about the hangover on Sunday the 2nd February...🤯

Enough said, but if you are participating in dry January then you have great willpower and we'll see you on February 1st 🍾

Pairing wine and snacks 😋

What wine goes really well with...?

A Lincolnshire poacher crumpet with pickled walnut ketchup and artichoke veloute from .chef snack menu at in Louth 🧀 🍷

White wine - try with Ocean Thrapsithiri from Idaia winery in Crete with it's incredible freshness, savoury notes of salt and olive brine and a vibrant, lemony acidity 🍋

Red wine - nothing beats pairing hard, nutty cheeses with Amarone...🥰 A delicious blend of Corvina, Molinara and Rondinella from Valpolicella....The intense red fruit notes contrast with the salty, nutty flavour in the dish for a delicious foodie experience!

It was so great to see so many regular and new customers out and about, Christmas shopping 🎁

Yes, we did sell all of that spicy monk, but don't worry there's plenty more in the wine shop!
