It’s almost the weekend. For the parents navigating through half term….you’re nearly there!

The best way to celebrate is to come in and see us in our Thorpe Bay shop!

We’re open today for drink in and takeaway until 9pm and from 11-9pm tomorrow.

The wines from Laurence et Remi Dufaitre have become staples in the shop the last couple of years.

They produce some incredibly drinkable natural wines from their winery in the heart of Beaujolais in the town in Saint Etienne des Ouillieres.

In addition to their Beaujolais Villages and Beaujolais Cru bottling’s they produce a range of Vin de France cuvées that showcase why they are producing some of the most exciting wines in the region.

1000’F - This wine is a co-maceration of Chardonnay and Gamay where the grapes are layered successively and fermented via carbonic maceration for 10 days. Unfined, unfiltered and no added sulphur. Light and juicy with a fleshy texture and bright red fruit.

Levitas - 100% Gamay from a single plot in Beaujolais Villages on granite and sand. Cold carbonic maceration for 10 days and the aged in cement Vats for 8 months. Label designed by . Structured and fleshy with ripe cranberry, spicy red berry and juicy acidity. Unfined, unfiltered and no added sulphur.

Les Grillons du Beaujolais - A 50/50 blend of Cinsault and Grenache planted 10 years ago. A short carbonic maceration of only 5 days. Part rose and part orange wine and almost translucent when pouring, bright and fresh with red apple, wild berry and intense minerality. Unfined and unfiltered with a touch of sulphur at bottling.

Lamb Rose - a direct press Gamay from Beaujolais Villages grapes on decomposed granite. A delicate rose but lots of character, rose petal, wild strawberry, citrus, pomegranate and subtle spice. Unfined, unfiltered and no added sulphur.

will be cooking up a Peruvian 3 course feast for us and we’ll be pairing the food with 3 wines from based in the Valle De Pisco in Peru.

Tickets are priced at £50 per person and includes 3 Peruvian inspired food course, expertly paired with 3 Peruvian wines from Bodega Murga and we’ll finish the evening with a final Pisco and Peruvian chocolate course!

We are taking pre-orders for flowers and wine up until February 10th to be collected in either our Leigh or Thorpe Bay shop on either 13th or 14th February.

Please call us or come into either shop to reserve your gift packs.

We just need your chosen package, the date you would like to pick up and the shop you would like to pick up from. Payment is taken at the time of reservation.

We’re back open today! We’re here today until 6pm tonight.

We’re starting off the year with some good news as we today found out we finished in 38th place in the top 50 independent wine shops in the UK!!

A massive achievement considering there are over 1,000 indie wine shops in the UK. Not bad for a small, family run business in Essex!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

That’s us done for another year and what a year it has been. We opened our second shop, launched a gin brand, made it to the Top 50 independent wine shops again and sold more bottles of Chin Chin that we thought that was humanly possible.

Massive thanks to all of you that shopped with us in 2024 and made sure that our doors are still open as Vino Vero goes into its 12th year of trading. It’s been a difficult year for the hospitality industry as restaurants and wine shops around the country and going out of business at an alarming rate. Your ongoing support means the word to us.

A huge thanks to our amazing team Ali, Claire, Caz and Josh who have performed tirelessly in 2024. Extra special thanks to our manager Ollie for all of his hard work and innovation bringing new ideas and customer experiences to our Leigh shop.

We’re now closed until Tuesday 7th January while we refresh the shop after the madness of Christmas!
