Discovering lots of surprises in this old fashioned shop of 62 years , who had wallpaper on the walls in a shop ? HALTON NEWS ! Why do I feel I am renovating the place ! 🤔

So today we have taken out the 62 year old counter and look what we found ! The piece of wood with the name Hemingway on is the original owners name from 1960. He called into the shop around 5 years ago and spoke to John. He was 90 years old and doing a nostalgic visit. He told John he lived upstairs in the flat with his wife back then. How times change ! We also found Leeds City Bus tickets with 3d on. 🙂

Well the day has arrived.Halton News, The Evening Post, Pricerite, whatever we all remember it by, 62 years in the making, it is time for the 21st century to say goodbye to our 20th century shop.
But before we do say goodbye we would like to thank everyone in our community and afar for all your support and custom over the last 10 years and beyond. We are overwhelmed with all your well wishes, cards gifts flowers! We will cherish all the memories made at Halton News

From Tuesday 26th July our opening times will be

Tues to Friday 6am - 1pm
Saturday 6am until 2pm

As you know it's our final week here. We would like to thank all our customers once again for all the support and custom over the last 10 years.

With sadness and regret after 62 years the time has come to an end for Halton News. Unfortunately 50% rent increase along with everything else is just not sustainable for a small newsagent. Therefore Halton News will be closing its doors for the final time on Saturday 30th July. We would like to thank all of our customers past & present for your custom and support over all the years.
