Today was the day for 🐰The Easter Hamper Raffle Draw!🐰

First prize - the hamper, filled with wines, chocolates, cakes & egg cups, lots to enjoy, has been won by Di.
The two other prizes - yummy chocolates and Champagne have also been won by two other super supportive customers.
Thank you very much to Kathy for organising this fantastic fundraising for us all. And thank you to everyone of our customers and volunteers for taking part.

Yesterday afternoon marked a really special community occasion. ⭐️The 20th year of having our shop. ⭐️
To mark the occasion folk gathered outside, as they had on the original opening day, and cheers were given when Janet Every, 2004 Head of the Parish Council, returned to fulfil her role!
The Swan Inn, Monks Eleigh provided an inviting place for celebratory drinks for all and speeches were made by the 'then and now' Chair of the Shop Committee, Peter Maynard & Alan Line, before cutting the 20 cake. ⭐️

The Monks Eleigh Community Shop is delighted to announce the arrival yesterday of our brand new, energy efficient chillers & freezers. These have been purchased and installed thanks to grants from Babergh District Council and Monks Eleigh Parish Councill. Huge thanks also to the Volunteers who assisted with the emptying, cleaning and refilling.

Could you make 'helping in the shop' your New Year Resolution? The shop is run entirely by Volunteers so the more the merrier. From manning the till to stocking the shelves, from checking dates to cleaning the fridges - there is plenty to do. (The till is not obligatory to everyone.)
Some volunteers choose to come weekly others use our calendar website to offer time when it becomes available.

Huge thanks to the fabulous carollers who wassailed heartily in choirs from 5 - 15 in number, never minding the wind and weather! Thanks also to our super shoppers and to those enjoying time at The Swan Inn, Monks Eleigh who enabled over £100 to be raised for Royal Osteoporosis Society.
