Krohn Colheita is a must for port lovers, Krohn has a well-deserved reputation for the quality of its Colheita Ports.

These single year Ports, matured for a long time in wood, develop the mahogany colour of old Tawnies, alongside complex aromas and flavours and a silky texture.

The 2006 vintage has fresh, figgy notes with a hint of butterscotch, muscovado sugar and nutmeg on the nose. The palate is expressive and packed full of plum, walnuts, hazelnuts, cinnamon and raisins. Spice notes enrich the elegant finish, balanced by racy acidity.

There’s lots of party planning going on at the mo so here's my three essential ‘expert’ tips to turn you into a party planning professional!

1. Estimate Quantity
The general rule is half a bottle per head for a meal or 2-3 hour party.

2. Consider Budget
The sweet spot for party and quaffable wine is over £10 but under £15.
Don’t buy wine that's on a supermarket deal, it's not a deal, it's a marketing ploy.

3. Tasting Notes
Go for something fruity and easy drinking, rather than a full bodied wine.
Don’t mistake fruity for sweet, ask what the residual sugar is.

There, now you're on the right wine path for a super duper party!
