What a night and what an achievement for everyone that has worked in, drank in, liked, supported, shared, painted, supplied, and generally been involved in our little wine-loving business. We love you and we love our wee gem in Keswick. It’s so lovely to be recognised and we can’t thank the @cumbriafoodawards enough.

A bit late in the day but early last week we got to take a speedy little trip away to Edinburgh to do a trade tasting with two of our fantastic suppliers @element__wines and @alliancewine. We also got to meet some of winemakers for some of our fave tipples to get real insight on how they come up with the goods. Standout’s were a skin contact Gruner from @diwald.at, a Chardonnay (This ain’t Macon) from @mountainpeoplewines, some delicious Savoie wines which we subsequently quaffed on our Apres Ski night and a stunning ice wine from @altolandonwines.

Apres Ski Night was so much fun!!! The shop absolutely stank of cheese but it was totally worth it.

As a Shop Supervisor, you’ll take charge of bottle stock and sales, assist in prepping and serving delicious food, and ensure that our stock room, food storage and service areas are kept in good shape. What You Need:

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and keep things running smoothly.

We’re back in collaboration with The Alhambra Cinema @keswick_alhambra_cinema for a showing of The Tasting - a great French romantic comedy, based on a real wine shop!
On 7th and 28th February, join us once for an evening of fine French film and fine French wIne as we introduce you to some superb vintages to complement your viewing: ticket price of £40 includes wine tasting. Tickets for these events are available for over-18s only.
📽️ The Tasting: Hortense has a big heart and no one to share it with except her cat, her embittered mum, and a group of homeless people for whom she prepares a gourmet dinner at the local church every week. While buying a nice bottle of wine, Hortense meets Jacques, a fifty-something, grumpy local cellarman. Eager to see him again, she attends a chaotic wine tasting in Jacques’ shop - meeting his best friend who clumsily tries to seduce her, and his new apprentice who turns out to have a rare gift for tasting as well as an unfiltered honesty. As Hortense and Jacques grow closer and closer, their past begins to catch up to them. French with English subtitles.

What a day!! The LDW team worked tirelessly to knock out as much homemade mulled wine and hotdogs as they could whilst I pranced about on stage.
