We love to celebrate local Breweries, Musicians, Produce and Chefs and what better way to do that all in one day than by hosting a good ol’ Festival! 
On Saturday 3rd August we’ll be open from 2pm showcasing seasonal beers from our outdoor beer bar from exceptional local breweries: , , , + , live music from 4pm and at 5pm Chef will be cooking up a humdinger of a Hog Roast with slow roast pulled pork in sourdough baps with homemade applesauce!
This is a free entry event - but do let us know if you are interested in joining us so we have an idea of numbers and food quantities!

It’s safe to safe - Bildeston likes Brunch!

Our first of these Breakfast/ Brunch events was an absolute triumph. Thank you to those who joined us to see come alive on a Sunday morning with the smells of ground coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, champagne, local crispy bacon and sausages, sourdough toast and all of the things that make breakfast the best meal of the day!

As it was such a success we are pleased to say we will be hosting our next brunch on Sunday 28th July!

We think on a weekend breakfast should be a long, lazy affair so join us on the 28th as master of the breakfast, Chef Nico, cooks up a laidback breakfast offering of Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine and a classic Kings Head English Breakfast with only the finest produce, accompanied by non fussy filter coffee, English Breakfast Tea, freshly squeezed orange juice, Bloody Marys and Mimosas, all set to a soundtrack of chilled tunes and hopefully some sunshine!

Whilst we were closed in January I did a little sketch of one of our cutest regulars…. Then I sketched their dog 😂 - no really Ellie is one of keenest supporters, she sits all night looking at us with her doughy laser beam eyes, offers her paw, loves treats and cuddles. She always drags her parents Graham and Carol to the pub and gets excited earlier on in the day when her Dad tells her of their plans to visit the pub that evening. She has a particular love for my Dad and can spot him yards down the road. She is a gorgeous girl and I wanted to try to capture her in a sketch which I am happy to say Graham and Carol were chuffed with.

We’ve been receiving such glowing feedback about our Saturday One Pot Cooking!! The combination of comforting hearty dishes, paired with beautiful wines by a roaring fire, seems to be the winning formula - and the perfect Saturday evening treat as the nights draw in and there’s a chill in the air. It has been a huge pleasure to team up with kitchen and for many of these including our ‘Second Saturday Supperclub’s’ - which we have also hosted with . This weekend we have Nico + Emy returning to dish up indulgent Lamb Shank, Celeriac Mash and steamed Broccoli. They consistently deliver local ethically sourced and sumptuous dishes with calm creativity and elegance. A CHRISTMAS TREAT! This month it is our great pleasure to host another of finest singer songwriters - ahead of the release of his debut album, Max will be treating us to an evening of his captivating original music and a few well know numbers thrown in for good measure. Max is unique in so many ways but draws influences from Folk, Soul, Pop, Indie to Blues and is inspired in his songwriting by the likes of James Taylor, Ray LaMontagne, Jeff Buckley and many more. Max is an utterly beguiling guitarist which when accompanied by his honeyed, tender yet powerful vocal - makes for a performance not to be missed. DUE TO FLOODING WE WILL BE CLOSED TONIGHT - we have tried to drive in to the pub this afternoon but have had to navigate some horrendously flooded roads (as we guess many of you have who are driving home this evening). is stranded with his one way out of Kettlebaston impassable and we are concerned about being stranded or getting in to difficulty driving home later tonight if we were to open.
