Good. Less is always more, right? But enough about what we’re up to, how about who we are? We’re a new brand, ENVY & NV Spirits, launched in 2016 by the owners of our parent brand, La Fée. We’re the disruptive child of La Fée, here to shake up the market with our new range of spirits in one unified brand, something the drinks industry hasn’t seen since Seagram’s legendary brand portfolio. Our owner, George Rowley, is a bit of a legend himself, he started the absinthe revival in Europe in the 90s, bringing it back to a mainstream audience. Alongside Marie-Claude Delahaye, founder and curator of the Absinthe Museum in Auver-sur-Oise, France, and Gavin Prector-Pinney from the Cloud Appreciation Society (we all do really appreciate them don’t we?), George launched La Fée Absinthe, the first traditional distilled absinthe commercially produced in France since the 1915 ban. We’re really proud of that. La Fée then entered the low-strength absinthe mainstream market with NV Absinthe, which you might have seen across the NUSSL bars in the UK, which then got them thinking about adding more spirits to make a whole cocktail cabinet full of them – and ENVY & NV Spirits was born. The rest is not quite history as its only just happened, but you know what we mean. Our brand is called ENVY & NV Spirits. Why two names? Say them out loud or try ordering them in a busy bar on a Friday night, and you’ll see: they sound the same and that’s why we call ourselves both – both names represent our bar call and both names represent our brand.
