Helmsley Wines is an independent Wines & Spirits shop located in the beautiful market town of Helmsley, on the edge of the North York Moors. Our wines come from smaller vineyards and have been carefully chosen by owners Mal and Jayne for their quality and value for money. We are passionate about finding new and exciting wines to bring to our customers and have a wide selection from around the worl

We also stock a great variety of spirits, including a wide selection of whiskies from well-known brands to a great choice of limited edition bottling’s from some small distilleries. Our aim is to give friendly yet professional customer service which will welcome our customers back to Helmsley Wines time and time again.

Merry Christmas! We'd like to wish all our customers, old and new, a very Happy Christmas! Thank you, as always, for all your support over the past twelve months.

We're open until 3.30pm today for any last minute shopping, but otherwise we'll be back open from 10.30am on 27 December.

Don't forget we also offer a 'Click & Collect' service. Order online or call us on 01439 770829 to collect orders up to 8pm on Monday evening (by pre-arrangement).

J is for Jeroboam - A Jeroboam wine bottle holds 3 litres of wine (4 bottles) which makes it the perfect showpiece to entertain family and friends at the dinner table this Christmas. We also currently have stock of Magnums (1.5ltr) or the extravagant Methusaleh (6 Ltr) for that big event.

H is for Pedro Ximenez (He-Men-Ez)! It may sound like a Spanish World Cup winning footballer but it's actually the grape variety that makes delicious rich and dark sweet dessert wines, most commonly found in several regions in Spain and also Australia!

This is our most popular dessert wine over the Christmas period and goes perfectly with Christmas pudding or drizzled over ice cream. We have several award winning examples in store. Available in half and full bottles!

‘Tis that time of year again! This time 11 years ago back in 2013, we opened up our lovely little shop hoping that our dream would succeed. Decorating the Christmas window always brings back memories of that day!

Lots of things have changed in those years but our passion to stock as many great wines as we can hasn’t.
