And on to the second bit … and the celebration of all things handmade! We will be sharing lots of talented makers today so if you’d love the chance of being shared, here’s what we’d like you to do:

💫please make sure you’re following us; it’s only fair that we share our lovely supporters
💫please comment, ‘Today is World Handmade Day’ below
💫please tag in lots of your Insta friends in your comments so we can raise awareness of the love and dedication that goes into making handmade pieces.🤩

And please spend some time sharing each other and chatting with other small business owners today. We can send a very powerful message today if we all take part, have some fun, and show the world how wonderful handmade and small businesses are!💫

Any of you interested in this lovely project from Rotary Club of Haslemere? They need volunteers. If you can help please make contact with the Rotary directly..

SEWING AND CRAFT ENTHUSIASTS, `Laptops for Schools` project needs your help.
Could you help us upcycle our great supply of hessian coffee sacks donated by PACT Coffee of Haslemere. We are looking for a small team to turn them into the lovely everyday but individually unique items shown in the picture. We will supply sacks and the patterns which are very easy and could be sewn with any standard sewing machine using a 90 - 100 universal/denim needle.
All the proceeds from the sales will fund the parts required to upgrade our donated laptops, readying them for use by local schoolchildren who would otherwise miss out on digital and virtual schooling. Please comment or PM if you would like to know more. Our team leader will be sure to respond. Thankyou.🙂

We are now starting to put the Haslemere Educational Museum quilt together, so if you have a finished square at home please either send it to the Museum, drop it into the Museum's post box or contact us about getting it to us.
Although we are beginning to put the quilt together we are also still asking for people's reaction to this lockdown and the ongoing situation.
Our latest square from Kay, represents how she has enjoyed walks when there has been a beautiful hoar frost - 'The frost just accentuates the beauty of nature'

Do you want to do your own marketing?

If you’re a start-up, self-employed or run a micro business DIY marketing may be the best solution for you, at least until you’re in a position to outsource or employ a professional marketer.

However, it’s very easy to spend large amounts of time and money on marketing activities that don’t deliver a good return on investment. That’s why you need to join SiGNAL for our webinar sharing our DIY Marketing Toolkit!

This session is a crash course in DIY marketing. We’ll teach you the basics, share our top tips and explore free marketing tools that we recommend you adding to your DIY Marketing Toolkit.

By the end of the webinar you’ll have a clear idea of how a basic marketing funnel works, know what tools you need and how to set them up, and be ready to create your first marketing campaign for your business.

Haslemere Rotary gets CRAFTY ??🤔

Since opening the pop up shop in West Street on the 4th July Rotary have raised well over £5000 for the Local Food Banks and Stroke Club. Over half was raised by Joan Mills on her heroic 500 mile walk with the remainder coming from donations through the shop on Saturdays. The original Rotary theme for the shop was to provide PPE as the High Streets started to open up. The focus has continuously evolved as our donors and supporters have offered new ideas. Currently our garden furniture made from pallets by a local resident and donated to the shop is our best seller and we have offered him help in production so we can continue to offer them.
If you have a craft hobby, love recycling/ upcycling or maybe have spare craft items that would appeal to our customer/supporters we would love to hear from you. We can then broaden the range of our interesting and ethically sourced craft gift items and continue to raise funds for the Food Bank and Stroke Club.
