A wee appreciation post for community, shops, pubs and family.

I've just been in West Cork visiting my pal, she took me to an incredibly inspiring place called Levis' Corner House (first photo) in Ballydehob.
Full of the best energy and community. The real deal. Been in the family for over 100 years, originally run by two legendary sisters for decades, one of them still pouring Guinness/Murphy's into her 100s! Now run by their Grandnephew and his partner.
A shop, a pub, a music and arts venue, a place for everyone!

Got me thinking about my own family history and my Grandmothers shop in Newmarket, Co Cork (second photo)
O'Shea's - Open since the early 1900s by my Great Grandparents, passed down to my Grandmother who ran it all her life (whilst bringing up many children) and still owned and open today by my Auntie and Uncle.

Made me appreciate our little shop, our amazing community and how I've accidentally followed in my Grandmothers footsteps.

Wonder if we will still be here in 95 years? 😂

A few things from a lovely Sunday!

2. is baking some absolutely delicious sourdough in Mossley! Check him out. He popped in this afternoon off the cuff and sold all his 6 loaves in 30 mins!

3. One of our wonderful wee customers Fern made this BEAUTIFUL card, featuring Sylvie and Badger.

Nothing for weeks and now I am double posting tonight, what is going on? 🤯

Well, I've just been thinking about how delicious these Natas are and how they deserve a spot on the grid.

Pastel de Natas made in the traditional and authentic way by Rita .rita.patisserie from Viseu in Portugal, who lives and bakes in Mossley 🇵🇹🥐

Available at ours on Saturday mornings!
(⚠️ They go pretty fast 💥)

Rita also does a few markets so give her a follow to see where else you can find her.

We went down to that London today to try absolutely loads of wine from around the globe.

Czechia? Greece? Slovenia? You bet!

San Marino? Luxembourg? St Kitts and Nevis? No way!

Suffice to say, we had some absolute belters and some of them will be winging their way to the shop. Keep your eyes peeled, and if not peeled, at least open, for new arrivals.

Every year on the same date, Chubbles is released. This year we have Chubbles 53degrees north, a 6% soft and hoppy IPA, Forever Chubbles (8%) and Chubbles Enhanced (10%). All IPAs, all fabulous and all worth buying. Let me know if you want any saving as they won’t be available for another year.
