We are now happy to announce we will be working alongside evri from the 22nd October. This will be for all of your pre paid returns, sending items, and collection of items.

Please make use of this service where you can as many post offices have had this removed due to lack of use.

Please make sure they follow the rules.

Santas very own post box will be located inside the shop. Please make sure they are written and posted in time to avoid disappointment.

This is why I keep telling the younger generation to stop avoiding cash!!! ……

Why should we pay cash everywhere with banknotes instead of a card ?

- I have a £50 banknote in my pocket. Going to a restaurant and paying for dinner with it.

The restaurant owner then uses the note to pay for the laundry.

The laundry owner then uses the note to pay the barber.

The barber will then use the note to pay for shopping.

After an unlimited number of payments, it will still remain a £50 value, which has fulfilled its purpose to everyone who used it for payment and the bank has jumped dry from every cash payment transaction made.

BUT

IF I go to a restaurant and pay digitally via Card,

- the bank fees for my payment transaction charged to the seller are 3%, so around £1.50

( and so will be the fee of £1.50 for each further payment transaction )

-for the owner re laundry or
- payments of the owner of the laundry shop,
- or payments of the barber etc.....

Therefore, after 30 transactions, the initial £50 will exist at only £5, and the remaining £45 has become the property of the bank … thanks to all of the digital transactions and fees!

Use it or lose it folks…

Once it’s gone we won’t get it back!

Cash is king!

To the people who wanted to YET AGAIN leave your rubbish on the property of the shop I would like to inform you that you are on camera!! It’s bloody disgusting that you’re quite happy and willing to leave your unwanted items out on the patio of our business! If you won’t do it at your house don’t do it at mine! For future reference I shall contact the environmental health department and give them the footage of you fly tipping at our property. I just wish I could now dump it around your home but I won’t allow myself to be put into the category of people who don’t appreciate our village!!!!

To the residents of Highnam…. Do you think this is acceptable?

We understand the clothing bank is full, we also understand how frustrating it is when it’s full and you’ve made the journey down here to recycle your items, however we find it even more frustrating when the residents of Highnam think that this is acceptable.

This is fly tipping and you have been caught on camera! Note… if it doesn’t fit in the clothes bank then please take your items home and try again at a later date or try another location. DO NOT leave your items outside the clothes bank.

This isn’t only our business which now looks to be a dumping ground for unwanted clothing but it’s my HOME.
I can assure you that if I was to walk around leaving bags of clothing on your doorstep, you wouldn’t be happy and the complaints would flow in very quickly so Please STOP doing it at mine!

Also in note of this…. All of the amazing donations which are outside of the clothes bin unfortunately will no longer be donated to charity but will have to go in the bin to insure our business and home is kept clean, tidy and respectfully set in this lovely village. This is due to the fact it can attract rats/mice, it has been wonderfully soaked due to the British weather so can’t imagine any charity wanting to accept any of it and in all honesty our property isn’t the grounds of Hempstead recycling centre.
